House was very beautiful clean and comfortable.very well equipped. Very nice neighborhood. Was relaxing and a perfect vacation stay. I definitely recommend this property.
Beautiful area. The home was very spacious for my needs. I absolutely loved the open concept. The house was very pleasantly stocked. The sunroom was a big hit for the early morning coffee drinkers. One other honorable mention is the pet policy. For this to be a pet friendly home, it was extremely clean with no smells of furbabies. The fee was also very reasonable.
We were visiting the area for only a few days for a family reunion. I wish we had more time in our plans to stay longer because this home was beautiful!!! Fit our family perfectly. Outside was even beautifully decorated and well lit at night when we came back late evening.
We were very pleased with this place. It was very clean, had lots of amenities. The only problem was that it showed pictures like you could just walk down to the lake. That was not accurate. We had to drive to several piers to go fishing.
For starters, the pics in the VRBO listing don’t do this property justice… and we thought the pics were great! This was by far the best VRBO we’d ever stayed at! Immaculately clean, very comfy beds, exceptionally gracious host, and very well appointed with everything we needed - we truly felt like this was a home away from home. Cannot recommend Miss Pennie and her property enough; looking forward to coming back often!
House was very nice. The one bed downstsirs was very high, but i managed. Within 30 minutes of a lot thing we wanted to do. Little trouble with septic pump, but was fixed in a timely manner. Would stay agsin

This house was the perfect weekend getaway for us and our two pups. Love that it was pet friendly and had ample parking for our 21 ft center console. We ended up deciding not to try the boat ramp in the neighborhood, but it would be great for pontoons and it was only 10 minutes to a public ramp we could use. Great communication from the host! Would definitely return.
We had a family reunion that weekend, so we spent very little time at the house. I rented the house basically for a place to sleep. The bed on the first floor was entirely too high even with the step stool. I pray that my daughter didn't fall out of in the middle of the night and get hurt. The bed in the master bedroom felt like sleeping on cement. I slept on the daybed and my husband slept in the recliner down stairs the first night. Second night we slept in the queen size bed, it was also high, & slightly softer then the master. My husband end up sleeping on the day bed. We did not use the hot tub or any of the outdoor amenities
Listing was inaccurate when it mentioned a twin bunk bed, unless the bunk bed was meant to be the twin trundle. One room has a queen and a daybed with a pull-out trundle, with no actual twin bunkbeds. We made it work but this house, albeit beautiful and spacious, is definitely suited to tall adults or families with older children. All the beds are very high for active sleeper kids likely to roll out of bed. Bring bed rails or noodles/rolled-up towels to use on the edges under fitted sheets as a barrier. We also encountered an issue with the water that was brown in all faucets & toilets. It eventuality got better so not sure what caused the issue. Otherwise, this house was well-kept; a great place to hang out and play games after a day in the lake. A/C kept up, and there's plenty of floor space for air mattresses to make up for the assortment of random beds for giants. Oh, and *no can opener or colander* may be of note to anyone planning on using the kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay. The home is spacious and accomodating for the 6 of us who stayed there. One thing that was a problem: the internet modem did not work at all. We had no tv or internet services the whole weekend. 🙄 I called the host and the internet provider. I was on the phone with them for 1/2 an hour. The property manager came out the next day and could not solve the problem which was a new modem was needed.
It could not get replaced until Monday or Tuesday. We left Sunday before that would happen. Those services are definitely needed given the fact that the location is remote and not in a city. The host did give us a small credit for this problem.
I booked a weekend stay at Pennie's place with some college girlfriends to visit a nearby Vineyard and celebrate Friendsgiving. The pictures are accurate. Really beautiful place, clean and well stocked is an understatement. Keriug cups, snacks, abundance of wash clothes and towels, even a waffle maker. We had a small issue getting into the home and Pennie called back several time to ensure we made it inside safely. High recommend. We may be back to enjoy the lake in warmer months.
The home was absolutely beautiful with large rooms and nice big open kitchen. My family spent a great deal of time on the very nice front porch. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood.
We did have a little problem with some housekeeping issues but the host addressed that immediately. Also unfortunately we weren’t able to use the hot tub as it wasn’t clean and the filter was missing.
Spacious and comfortable home. Beds are firm and comfortable. Kitchen could use a few more dishes for cooking like baking dish or casserole dish. Very clean and the owner was nice and helpful. Great for little ones to play and plenty of room.
My family and I visited Lake Gaston and stayed on this property during our visit. The property is beautiful, as well as the house. The host was very kind and answered any and all questions that we had. The home looked just like the pictures and the hospitality from the host was top notch! We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home and property for anyone looking to book.
We had such a wonderful stay! Super clean. Beautifully decorated and spacious home. We used the neighborhood day dock and it was all just a perfect stay at Lake Gaston!
My family and I really enjoyed are stay. The home was beautiful the host pays great attention to detail, The location was perfect for us it was close to my mom and the lake. We will defintely check them out on future stays.
