Friendly staff, tasty breakfast, simple rooms
Very friendly helpful staff. Very good Costa Rican style breakfast served in beautiful courtyard. Rooms were fairly simple with ceiling fan and one extra fan as well as bathroom. The ceiling fan worked well enough that we didn't use the extra fan even though the day temperature was approximately 35C.
Spent two days in Liberia. Wonderful location in the center of Liberia next to the Parque Mario Canas Ruiz. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Delicious breakfast included. Great courtyard to relax. Will definitely return again!
DO NOT LET THESE GOOD REVIEWS FOOL YOU.
When you walk in you will see a BEAUTIFUL lobby, and be greeted by wonderful employees, it is all a facade.
After we received our keys, we went to open our room door but it couldn't open all the way because the bed was so close to the door. The rooms looked like prison cells, cement walls and windows so high up you couldn't see out of them. The room smelled like poop, the shower was dirty and so were the sheets. The walls are super thin, it sounded like the people on the streets were in our room. We requested for the sheets to be changed and the bathroom to be cleaned. I'm not sure what she cleaned with because there was no difference afterwards, and after she changed the sheets she SPRAYED THE PILLOWS WITH FEBREEZE.
I feel bamboozled. We would rather sit in pizza hut for 3 hours than go back to the hotel. The reviews and pictures made it seem like a great place to say, however the only thing good about this hotel were the employees. They were so sweet and helpful.
Chambre No1
The lobby has a nice atmosphere and the breakfast is very good. The staff is very nice. But we were just disappointed in the hard beds and tiny pillows. As well as cold water.
I checked into the hotel on my way to the airport the next morning and leave area. This was a great option, very Central, and it is easy to get a taxi to the airport for around $15 if you tell them to use the meter.
The room was clean and the staff was very pleasant but the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the room was hot. It was a bit pricey for what we received.

Great for an overnight stay.
No air-con means it can be a bit uncomfortable at night. Fan in room. Cold shower but very refreshing given the heat. Room small and basic but absolutely fine for a one night stay. Good restaurant next door recommended by owner. Breakfast great. Garden/bar area to sit and relax. Staff lovely and very helpful. Would recommend.
Maya Tenorio

Okay hotel.
The hotel was very nice. There are many things that are good and others that are not so good.
PROS:
-Elegant and nice looking hotel. Makes you feel at home.
-Nice breakfast.
-Friendly staff.
CONS:
-All the restaurant was reserved for an event of Herbalife so that didn't give the guests the opportunity to have a nice and comfortable meal when necessary. So the restaurant is not 100% available for guests and there is noise because of the microphones they use.
-The room is EXTREMELY small.
-There is no closet, only shelves.
-Hard to walk because there is no space, same with the bathroom.
I think is an okay hotel is you are only staying for one night.

Friendly staff and central location
I have stayed at Hotel Liberia several times, last year and this year. The staff are lovely and accommodating. Last year when I was doing research and staying there, they washed my teams' clothes (of course we paid) which were absolutely filthy from working in the field. They have delicious meals and will serve you whenever you like. The rooms do not have air conditioning or hot water, but honestly it's really unnecessary unless you're planning to stay in your room the entire day. I even took my mom here on my most recent trip and she adored it even as a woman who loves the AC and typically stays at resorts. I love it here and will continue to go back each time I visit!
En general fue buena, lo unico malo fue el calor y las habitaciones deben de estar mas climatizadas. Porque fue un calor exagerado que no descanse bien.

This was a good value, but you get what you pay for. I felt safe, good service by staff, room was fine, but no air. I never did get any hot water in the shower.
The staff was super amazing:friendly and helpful!!! Food was good. The accommodations, not so much. All rooms looked and felt like a dorm room or hostel, even with a fan it was uncomfortably hot, and there was no hot water. Even for $60, we expected a little more comfort.

Convenient hotel in an interesting town
We do recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Liberia, especially after landing at the international airport. Would we stay here again? I am not so sure. It is convenient, the staff is pleasant, but the standard double room that we had was a bit claustrophobic. Only one of the windows opened. We used a fan throughout the night. The bathroom is cramped. The room and bathroom could use some hooks, basic needs for hanging clothes and towels. Meals are fine, standard.

NO AIR CONDITIONING!
Hotel falsely advertised it had air conditioning- 2 electric fans don't count as air conditioning.
We arrived early for check in and were welcomed to stay till the room was ready. The staff brought us glasses of ice water, since we looked pretty cooked. This is in an older hotel in an older part of town. The room was very small, but all we needed. It was easy to walk to places to eat and there was a lovely park just a couple of blocks away.Very quiet at night. The staff was superb! Really helpful. The place was super clean and the food was delicious. A more authentic Costa Rican experience than the bigger hotels.
