Carve up wide-open terrain and check out the exciting après scene on the twin alps of this ski resort, known for its long season and dazzling glacier.

Les 2 Alpes is an extensive ski resort that encompasses the two alpine plateaus above Mont-de-Lans and Venosc. Skiers and boarders favor this resort for its extensive skiable terrain, treeless slopes, half-pipe and fun park. Enjoy the resort’s excellent lift system, year-round glacial snow cover and charming lower village.

Explore nearly 425 acres (172 hectares) of groomed pistes and find an even spread of black-, blue- and green-graded runs. Kids and beginners will love the resort’s gentle slopes and ski-school programs. For more challenging runs, check out the resort’s extensive off-piste slopes and traverse the exciting terrain at adjoining La Grave, which is connected to Les 2 Alpes by gondola.

Thrill-seeking skiers and boarders can practice jumps and tricks on the kickers, boxes and half-pipe in the terrain park. The glacier of Les 2 Alpes is one of the largest skiable glaciers in Europe and allows year-round skiing, however, there are some lift closures in summer. Jump aboard the funicular railway that travels beneath the ice and enjoy magnificent panoramic views from the glacier’s peak. From here, you can see Mont Blanc, the National Park of Les Ecrins, the Plateau de Vercors and L’Alpe d’Huez.

The resort’s village has a wide range of dining options and après-ski venues, from rustic chalet restaurants to casual crêperies, lively bars and burger joints. Test out some new equipment at the ski rental facilities or relax after a long day on the slopes with a massage or spa treatment.

Les 2 Alpes is easily accessible by car from Grenoble and the Frejus Tunnel near the Italian border. Bus transfers are available from Grenoble’s train station, 75 minutes from the resort by car, while the airport is 90-minutes’ drive away. The resort’s lifts run from November until the end of April, as well as a period between June and August and the October holidays. Consider buying a multi-day ski pass that enables access to several nearby resorts for the full Grande Galaxie French Alps experience.

Don’t miss visiting the neighboring village of Venosc, which is linked to the resort by gondola.
