    Honeymooners will enjoy the privacy and cozy atmosphere. All modern amenities make this rental a star-haven for a great family vacation. Single occupant- you will want to stay forever!
    This highland hide-away has a bubbling brook that you can hear spring through winter. The beautiful spring native flowers, the fall colors and the beautiful blanket of a winter wonderland under God’s heavenly lights are a “must see”.
    Central heating and air conditioning, fireplace with gas logs, nice porch with table and chairs, rocking chairs and “soaking hillbilly hot tub”. Marie is absolutely amazing and it was such a pleasure to stay at this cabin. My boyfriend and I went hiking and explored Downtown Asheville, and didn’t find it difficult to get around. We enjoyed the grill and spending some time on the porch, and we even got a visit from Marie’s goats a couple of times! I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone wanting to get some fresh air and explore the Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge.

Peaceful retreat.

We loved this rustic cabin in the mountains. It had everything we needed. The host was so kind and made sure we lacked nothing. It is also convenient to many area attractions as well as beautiful scenery. We are so glad we stayed here.

Great stay at the cabin!

What a wonderful stay at the little cabin! Quiet and secluded for perfect coffee and breakfast on the porch. Kitchen has everything you will need to cook in and you’re close enough to Asheville to head into town. Marie is a wonderful host and Princess on the porch to meet us when we checked in was a great touch. Highly recommend this cabin. The updates with AC and washer and dryer are great.

Great Little Cabin

This cabin was just as pictured. Host was a delight to speak with. Came by to make sure we had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable, had everything we needed for cooking. Having coffee and creamer provided was nice!

Secluded and quiet

The Star Haven Lodge was just like the pictures depicted. Loved the creaky floors and hillbilly hot tub. It was cozy! A few of the dishes we used needed rewashing, the outdoor tub needed cleaning before we could use it, and the grill wasn’t cleaned from the previous guests. Otherwise, our stay was great!!

Nice stay/Lovely host

The property was just as described. Rustic setting and cottage but nicely kept and well furnished. Just about anything you’d need was available. A fun place to stay on the outskirts of Asheville. Near enough, but a very private and peaceful setting. The owl calling at night and the visits by the family border collie were extra special treats. The host was very responsive to any inquires and very nice to work with. We’d definitely stay again!

Re-Set in the country

The cabin was exactly as described with everything you might need to cook with. It's only 4 miles from the highway, but you feel a lot more remote because of the privacy and rustic decor...Hummingbirds, blue berries and porch time. Bryson City and train rides > an hour away. Convenient to Asheville as well. Marie is great host. Highly Recommend.

Adorable,well appointed cabin tucked away in nature under a beautiful sky full of stars

Well off of the beaten path and nestled in the nature. Well cared for, comfortable to live in. Loved Mary's note to "poke around"! I did and found everything you could wish for. It was too chilly to use the porch tub, but what a thoughtful and cool amenity! Take a blanket out and lay under the stars - so beautiful!! We saw the brightest shooting star!

Heaven

This was my first VRBO stay. Everything was exactly as described. My husband and I could not have chosen a better place to spend our anniversary. The weather was a perfect 60 degrees at night so I could sit in the rocking chair on the porch for hours and just take in the forest. It brought a peace to my soul that I haven't had since my father passed earlier this year. I'm so grateful to Marie for this opportunity to just unplug and unwind. I've never had a vacation like this in my life and now I'm addicted.

We had an incredible weekend at Marie’s family homestead cabin. The cabin has all the modern conveniences and everything you need while retaining its traditional feel. You feel like you’re stepping into someone’s family history (and you still have Starlink!). We loved it. Oh - and don’t miss the Waynesville Farmer’s Market.

We were very happy with our stay! My wife and I were both astounded at all the beautiful details; it seemed as though we stayed in a work of art. Marie was wonderful and told us the story of the 1890s cabin- cool history. It was extremely clean and had more than anything we needed. I think our favorite thing was hanging out on the porch, watching the butterflies and hummingbirds, and we can't forget the "hillbilly" hot tub. The isolation was exactly what we wanted too, and it wasn't far from things we may need. We hope to come again!
