"Beautiful property right in the center of town and on the lake. Beat spot in Mount Dora. Rooms are on the dated side, but you are staying in a historic hotel. Quiet at night, great sunsets"

"Very friendly staff was a plus. Pool was sparkling clean. The negatives: refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced. The new one was noisy non stop. It had a leak and when we used a washcloth to clean it up, the floor was absolutely filthy. The towel was black from not being mopped. When we brought this to the desk clerk’s attention, she said it was policy to mop between guests but it is obvious it had not been done since we wiped the floor within hours of arriving. It was mopped upon request. Breakfast was less than average. First morning we arrived at 15 minutes until closing to find waffle batter was empty and staff was cleaning up. We were told “it was a busy morning and I don’t want to start over.” So it’s a guest’s problem that staff didn’t plan accordingly based on census? 9:00 end of breakfast does not mean start cleaning up at 8:40. We arranged our breakfast on our own for the next 8 days. I would rather have a $15 discount on the room than weak selections. The wall HVAC unit was loud. We turned it off at night so avoid the noise. The bath fan apparently was not working well due to the overall humidity in the room."

"The staff was attentive and helpful in extending our stay due to cancelled flights resulting from the snow storm in the NE. The breakfast staff member JIll was superb. Courteous kind and genuinely caring. The housekeeping rules should be revised and explained at check in. Guests should be informed that the room will not be cleaned daily and will not Be vacuumed. "
