"The castle was an amazing experience. Who doesnt want to stay in a castle??
It is FAR into the countryside and without a car, you cannot visit.
The room was stunning but it was so hot and there was no option to adjust the temperature.
Dinner was a challenge. You had to flag down the staff for cutlery after they dropped off the food. Waitstaff did not know the menu and could not advise what was in an item or even what items are being served. Steak was under cooked and the staff didn't come to check on our table until my husband was finished eating and at that point, i had eaten what i could. If we had been staing longer, i would have found alternative dinner restaurants before i would go back to the Dungeon Bar again."
Remodelled historical house w/ 17th century tower. Pet friendly. Boardgames!
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful restored tower. Really enjoyed our two nights there with our puppy. Plenty of garden space for her to run around in. Pub two mins down the road for an evening drink. Only accepts cash, no food, very small, but lovely people in there. Short drive to templemore where all the amenities are. Can’t recommend this place enough to spend some nights :)"

"My goal was to visit Castles and see the countryside! We purposely selected this place for the fact it was kinda in the middle of Ireland, from where we would make day trips. It worked wonderfully! Our other purpose was to be away from Dublin and meet what I guessed would be the true Irish. Very Close by was a fantastic Pub, and restaurant. We stayed a week here. Safety was of no concern on this trip. The people were wonderful and the food fantastic. We visited 7 castles while here, and went to the cliffs of Moher. We saved an incredible amount of money doing this ourselves versus going on tour buses. Do be aware back roads can be extremely narrow. I surely brushed the rental car against hedgerows on occasion. Rent a small narrow car for this neck of the woods. A big SUV would have been very difficult to keep on your side of the road, on backroads . Our Host Margaret was wonderfully accommodating. "
"The Flannery’s were excellent hosts. Lovely quiet part of the village along by the Shannon. Lovely room, bed and breakfast. Flynn’s Restaurant offers great food and service and the marina a picturesque walk after. A haven for fishing too. "
