"Delightful in every way. Xavier was an excellent, responsive, and helpful host. We even arranged for him to cook us a delicious arrival dinner. The garden was wonderful for the children. Plenty of grocery, bakery, restaurants nearby (proximity to Bayeux is nice). Lovely lane for walks. We especially loved sitting by the fireplace reading or playing one of the many board games!"

"Expensive, very basic, poor customer service. I always used to use this hotel but now I only use if no others are available as everything about the hotel has got worse over time. "

"Property was clean, fully equipped, very pretty garden, quiet area. Host was very friendly. Property could benefit from fly screens at windows and door. The double bed was a little on the short side even for 5ft 9” tall! Wrong Wi-Fi code on Vrbo app so check the code at the property. Overall an enjoyable stay."

"Absolutely wonderful ! We received such a warm welcome from Elena, Florent & little Leon and very soon felt like we were 'entre amis'. They looked after us so well, making sure we had everything we needed. The setting is gorgeous - Nature, wildlife and peace. The animals of Domaine FlorEl were a real highlight & brought a lot of joy! The house was clean & spacious, beautifully historic & kept cool in the August heat (a definite bonus!) It was very well equipped kitchen-wise & even had books, table football & a snooker table (a huge hit with the family!) The little pool and outdoor areas were lovely to relax in. There were plenty of great places to visit nearby too. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay & would not hesitate to return. Merci Elena, Florent & Léon! "

"It was value for money, with a decent breakfast"

"The host largely ignored our texts and requests. He never came to fix the things that he said would be sorted. The house was generally in a poor state of neglect, fridge door didn't close, kitchen kick board falling off, cooker inadequate for large group. The dishwasher stopped closing at one point and my brother fixed it after borrowing tools from a neighbour. The host just said it was working before. Pool was toxic and not maintained. My great nephew was sick after swallowing the water. We stopped using it when the water started getting green and cloudy. No curtains in main bedroom or bathroom . One bathroom really dingy and pokey, painted dark red with a dim light bulb, no window and supposed to serve 4 bedrooms with 4 double beds and 3 single bed spaces. The other 2 bathrooms supposed to serve 9 double beds and 2 single beds. One bedroom is a walkthrough to get to the bathroom. Another bedroom is a walk through to get to another bedroom. 2 double bedrooms are adjoining whether you want them to or not with a hole in the wall not a door you can close. If the house had some essential repairs carried out and more care, it could be advertised as a teenage youth hostel, but not a family home. It is not really safe for young children with trip hazards etc. It is in a nice location with lots to do in the area and close to Caen. "

"This is a guest house. I didn’t read the details correctly and not to my husband’s taste, therefore we didn’t stay. We left, but the host was very welcoming and the room and facilities seemed nice enough. Just not for us. The guest house is named something different so on arrival we were a little confused. "

"We couldn't have found a better gite as a base for our three-day driving tour of the beautiful Suisse Normande (and at such a good time of year).Jenny was a very welcoming and informative host. It was a lovely touch to find a bottle of wine and home-made strawberry jam on arrival!The location is so peaceful and idyllic."
