"The room was ok on arrival if you look past the stains on the carpet and hole in the hand towel. When I opened the hand towel a big clump of dark brown hair fell out of it. Made me feel sick. Staff were nice. Check in was horrendous with only one person on the desk so a massive queue had formed. They take £100 off your card “in case” you spend anything on your room during your stay. Parking is ridiculous at £18 a night and a tiny car park it’s difficult to find a spot. Preparations for a wedding stopped us using the overflow car park. Restaurant food was barely ok and very expensive. We were asked if we’d like water for the table then charged £4.50 for the pleasure. Saying that breakfast is wonderful with lots of choice. The spa treatments were fully booked all weekend due to the wedding but the pool etc was available. Don’t use the lockers. If you’re lucky enough to get into one you won’t be able to use it again to get your belongings back as the locks are dodgy. The reception staff have to come in and smash the door off to get you your things out. They advertise free WiFi but we could never log on. The TV doesn’t connect either so only the usual channels to watch. All in all with the tired rooms, poor parking and poor food the stay is overpriced and definitely not a luxury stay. I wouldn’t go back."

"All great apart from confusion about meal discount which was sorted via reception, for which thanks. Please ensure all restaurant and bar staff are aware of the Harrogate visitor card discount. All other staff apart from bar member who refused the discount (eve of 160526) were excellent. Food great. Room great. "

"The Bar area is really nice with lovely ceiling and deco, bar staff were friendly. The breakfast was very basic, had to check the mugs and cups as some were not cleaned well."

"Nice hotel only issues I had was parking can be a nightmare and even though reserved parking is offered cones are moved and your space is lost. Shower water pressure is terrible and needs improving. "

"Staff were amazing. More warnings should be provided on the availability of the pool (as there are so many children’s lessons). Very hot and an ambient stale smell in common areas. Felt a bit like a care home for walkers. Breakfast was good. "
