About this property
New River Gorge National Park,1 mile to AOTG
Summary:
Rustic, rugged, wild and beautiful just like the State of West Virginia. Red Oak Lodge was built in 2023 and is located on 8 heavily wooded acres. Surrounded by a lot more including the New River Gorge National Park along with "The Big Bridge", world class whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking-biking trails, Adventures on the Gorge and Fayetteville WV..."America's Coolest Small Town". This is a place that is secluded but at the same time close to all of the attractions and conveniences that you have come to expect.
Red Oak Lodge offers a very distinctive exterior as it is covered in locally cut and milled red oak with the lower half of the structure carrying a 'live edge'. The interior of the lodge is adorned with all local mill cut wood that includes pine, spruce, hemlock and reclaimed barn wood with the barns metal roofing. The craftsmanship of the lodge inside and out is second to none and as I like to call it imperfect perfection. You will find yourself destressing and relaxing without effort due to the calming energy that the lodge gives off. The very large wrap around and covered decks give the perfect location for enjoying games, family time, 8 person hot tub and nature. There's also a barbeque grill on the deck and a good sized fire pit just off the side deck to enjoy lots of food, drinks and marshmallow treats. Prior guests have commented on the abundant wild life that strolls around the property. The animals that consider Red Oak property their home too are deer,, family of wild turkey, two owls and hawks. No big foot sightings yet but keep a look out!
Accommodations:
Red Oak offers three private bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and bathroom with bathtub. Upstairs, you have a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with two queen beds. All beds are very comfortable and have great reviews from the guests. There is no sense in not having a good nights sleep. There is also an upstairs bathroom with a shower and a downstairs half bath that includes a washer and dryer. The living room is spacious with a extremely large wrap around couch with three recliners built in it, vaulted ceiling, wood adorned walls and a good view of the forest due to the many windows. All of the appliances are brand new and in working order. The kitchen is stunning covered in reclaimed barn wood and installed with expert craftmanship. During construction, every wall, ceiling and floor had an abundant amount of insulation installed so as to provide a sound barrier so guests could rest and relax without interference. Every detail was thought of for the purpose of providing a first class and comfortable stay. So come enjoy Red Oak Lodge and the beautiful State of West Virginia!

Wonderful property. Close to NRG activities but also somewhat secluded. Perfect for that family getaway that provides a mix of adventure and relaxation. The host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this property and hope that we can return in the future.
Check in was super smooth. The property was stunning. We had stars and coyotes howling. The beds were super comfortable. I will most definitely stay here again.
I rented the Red Oak cabin for a week long family vacation. The cabin was gorgeous, fully stocked, clean and centrally located. Check in/out was easy. There were a lot of bees on the property, but several locals mentioned the bees were everywhere this year. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family in the future!
Our trip was made complete by a comfortable, clean and convenient cabin just a few short miles from family we were visiting. This spacious cabin had everything we needed and communication with owner was great! We will DEFINITELY keep this in mind for future visits!
Cabin exceeded our expectations- made many memories with our family for Christmas. We loved the location and easy accessibility to New River Gorge as well as eateries and shops in Fayetteville. The cabin was warm and cozy and had everything we could have needed for the kitchen and bathrooms. Will consider renting again!
The cabin was brand new and in wonderful condition. Beds and linens were comfortable, and the kit hen was well stocked. Lots of amenities like camp chairs, yard games, etc. We loved the hot tub and wrap around porch. The location is a quick 10 minute drive to many restaurants, hikes, and national park sites.
This is by far the best rental experience we have ever had. The owner thought of everything! Towels by the hot tub, nice dishes and cooking materials, comfortable beds, fire pit, games…Perfect!!! We can’t wait to go back in the spring. The house is so beautiful and the effort put into it is so apparent!
Stayed a full week over Thanksgiving. 2 Grandparents, 4 parents, 2 grandkids, and 3 dogs. Plenty of room outside for kids to play and dogs to be walked. Jacuzzi was nice in the cold evenings. Less than 10 mins to shopping and restaurants and the New River under the fantastic bridge. Five minutes to the visitors center and lookout. Adventure center is even closer. Excellent location!
We stayed here to go rafting and Timber Trek with AOTG. If you want more privacy and still be close then this is perfect. The home is beautiful and so far no neighbors. Everything is provided- From pet hair rollers to shower supplies even qtips, 1st aid kit (I needed a bandaid), starter paper & wood for fire… cant list everything but it will be there. Bedding comfy, awesome living room and sofa for movie after a long day outside. Owner very quick to respond to texts. Pick this place you won’t regret it.
We had such a great stay! The home is even better than the pictures and really captures the rustic WV vibe with modern amenities. The mattress and sheets were the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking. Our favorite was Hawk’s Nest Trail which is less than 10 mins from The Red Oak Lodge. It is beginner friendly with a gorgeous double waterfall. We loved that The Red Oak Lodge is private enough to where you can’t see any neighbors, but minutes to AOTG, New River Gorge, and downtown Fayetteville. It is the perfect location, spacious, and dog friendly. Since it is a new build, our GPS led us to the wrong property. Use the host’s directions and try to arrive before sunset since the backroads are not lit.
We had the pleasure of meeting the host. He truly cares about making your stay the best possible and went above and beyond giving us a jump when our car battery died. Note that everything closes early in Fayetteville including Uber and Lyft services. We had more fun cooking and enjoying a bonfire at the lodge anyway. We highly recommend booking your next mountain getaway here!!
