This area offers a tranquil setting with easy access to the lake, which is a focal point for the village. You'll find a few local guesthouses and holiday rentals scattered along the roads leading to the lake, such as Dorfstraße. The general layout is rural and relaxed, focused on the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding countryside.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the lakeside area particularly appealing. It offers opportunities for quiet walks along the water's edge, enjoying the local wildlife, and simply unwinding in a calm environment. There are often small rowing boats or pedal boats available for hire on the lake, providing a gentle activity for two.

Families will also appreciate the village centre's proximity to the lake. Children can enjoy playing by the water, and the open spaces around the village are good for exploring.

For most visitors, the best time to go to Lankau is during the summer months, from June to August, or in the shoulder seasons of May and September.
