As a couple in our 50's touring with a car, we wanted to stay halfway between Delphi and Meteora. Loutra Ipatis is a quiet country town, on the outskirts of Lamia.
The setting is peaceful and relaxing, helped by a hot spring complex which is only a couple blocks from the hotel.
Looking north, the surrounding area spreads out with rolling hills filled with orchards and other agriculture. To the south the mountains rise up with forests and snow covered peaks.
The hotel owners speak English well, and they are full of warmth and enthusiasm to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was nice and included several local, homemade items. Although, we did not take advantage of it, the hotel provides bar service in an indoor/outdoor area in the evening. WiFi was good.
Note that dinner options will be somewhat limited, as the location is a small town. Fortunately, the local taverna two blocks away served good Greek food (and spoke English well). There are also a handful of other tavernas sprinkled among the surrounding towns.
