Sanctuary House: An ocean-view farmhouse retreat

"My family loved the location and beautiful views. The house is an expanded Cape with three smaller bedrooms upstairs that share a small bathroom, plus a larger primary bedroom with an attached bath. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows, bedding, and towels could use a refresh.One challenge was the older upstairs area, where the window AC units were not properly sealed. As a result, quite a few bugs made their way into the bedrooms and bathroom. A vacuum was provided, which helped, but it was still unsettling, especially for some members of our group.Another inconvenience was the water filtration system, which cycled during the night restricting the flow of any water. Not being able to flush toilets or use water normally at night was unexpected and made things less convenient for our group.The outdoor space was our favorite feature. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Access to Lambert's Cove Beach was another great perk, although the pass only allows walk-on access. If you're visiting during peak season, plan on using Uber or paying for parking. We visited during the off-season and were fortunate to find parking available.Overall, we had a nice stay and appreciated the location and outdoor amenities. Unfortunately, the home did not feel as clean or well-maintained as we had hoped, so while we enjoyed our visit, we would not choose to stay here again."

"Vineyard Haven is a beautiful home, with every conceivable comfort, perfectly located for exploring the entire island. We enjoyed daily walks and bike rides down to the waterfront to visit the various coffee shops then ventured out in a different direction each day to explore all the island has to offer. Gathering on the screened in porch in the evenings with wine to relax and plan the next day’s activities was enjoyed by all! Laurie was extremely easy to work with and has truly worked to make certain all her guests needs have been met. For those with interest, the Chilmark Artisan Flea Market, the West Tisbury Farmers Market, the Artisan Market at the Grange and the Polly Hill Arboretum were fun additions to our travels. Most definitely a beautiful vacation!"

"Everything about our stay went smoothly from start to finish. We received check-in information well ahead of time. Communication during our stay was prompt when we reached out. The house itself was clean, comfy and well stocked. We were a party of four and there was plenty of space to spread out. The location turned out to be perfect because it was a short drive to each site we wanted to visit and very close to the airport. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering booking."
