The best area to stay in Lam Ha is generally in and around the town centre of Dinh Van, as it provides the most developed infrastructure and access to local amenities.

Dinh Van is the district's administrative centre and offers a more settled environment compared to the surrounding rural areas. You'll find the main market, local eateries, and some guesthouses along the central streets, which are typically less congested than larger cities. It's a convenient base for exploring the local area.

For travellers interested in the natural beauty and agricultural landscape, staying near the coffee plantations just outside Dinh Van can be appealing. This offers a more peaceful retreat, with opportunities to experience local farm life and enjoy the scenery.

The best time to visit Lam Ha is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. Within this period, the months of December to February are particularly good.

During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, with minimal rainfall. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of Lam Ha, such as the numerous coffee plantations and waterfalls, without the disruption of heavy downpours. The clear skies also offer good visibility for scenic drives and outdoor activities.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this period great for enjoying the tranquil surroundings and cooler evenings. You can comfortably explore local markets or enjoy a quiet coffee overlooking the hills.

Families will also appreciate the dry season for its suitability for outdoor excursions. Activities like visiting Pongour Waterfall or exploring the Elephant Falls are much more enjoyable when the paths are dry and the weather is pleasant.
