Inside of house is clean and updated. Owners have it well-stocked with blankets, paper products, some kitchen staples, some videos and rainy-day games. Bed was very comfortable.
Lots of times things go perfectly and you don't know how a problem might be resolved if one arose. So for me, it's even better to know that a problem is resolved well than to hear that there were no problems at all. We didn't discover until very late in the evening of the first night we were there that we had no hot water. We let the owners know (even though it seemed too late to me to bother them), and they had a plumber out first thing in the morning, even though it was a Sunday in the middle of a snowstorm. That's impressive!
We chose this home because we made the decision to take this vacation with little prep-time. Our intention was to hike and see waterfalls in Marinette County. This location was further than we had planned to be from Dunbar and Amberg, so some of our drives to the parks were longer than we hoped for. But it was a good choice to stay in this cabin because the place was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed having the view of the lake out the window.
I was a little bummed that the space between this home and the lakeshore was private property. I had assumed it was public access to the lake. On the other hand, the public boat launch is a very short walk (less than 1/4 mile away), so we could easily head out in an inflatable kayak, and we could sit on a nearby dock for lunch.
I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting in the area (unless you have a bum-knee and can't climb the steps).
