We loved staying here! It had everything we needed with all the comforts of home. I loved that they added bear protection as we had a bear break in once before, and this made us feel safe and at ease. We would love to come back again! Loved, loved, loved this cottage.
Piney Wood was the launching pad for hiking, beaches, and serene relaxation. We made an excellent choice to select Piney Wood as the place to spend our vacation.

Great Stay
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was centrally located, clean and had all the necessities. Office was great with communication. I would definitely use their services again. Thank you.
This place was fantastic. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon for a week, and it was perfect. Comfortable home, and so clean, which I feel isn’t always the case with cabins, but everything about the home was perfect. They have a great deck, the area is quiet, the hot tub is amazing, comfortable beds, great showers and hot water, and sits in between two areas with lots to do. I cant recommend this property enough. - TM

Home away from Home
We enjoyed our stay here very much. It was obvious the owners paid attention to the details. The house was well equipped with all the essentials and the hot tub was the best after a long hike. We loved the tranquillity the house offered as well as the proximity. Tahoe Getaways was also a good property management company it work with. My only suggestion is to figure how to get a king size bed on main level.
The house was very clean, cozy and a wonderful stay for our family (2 parents, 2 teens). The beds were extremely comfortable and the hot tub was amazing!! (and the hot tub was very clean). The kitchen was very well stocked in terms of equipment. The only thing missing from the kitchen was stuff for food storage — no Tupperware, or plastic wrap — so keep that in mind as you do your shopping. The lighting in the main room could have been a bit better — either with better wattage or more floor lamps. But otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Top notch. Great place.
Very nice place. Well furnished with all we needed. Smoke detector did go off a couple of times even though there was no smoke. Other than that - excellent place to stay.

Piney Wood Cottage - Carnelian Bay
This cabin was super clean, spacious and very well appointed. I would definitely plan on staying here again. There were plenty of linens for the beds and towels. The hot tub was hot when we got there. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed to cook and be comfortable. Extra thankful for a newish functioning coffee maker and the remote control fireplace. All around a great place.
Stayed for 5 days. Great location. Very quiet and peaceful. Great facilities. Hot tub lovely. Really lovely lodge. Only downside was it was very hot whilst we were there and although there were fans there is no air con.
We really enjoyed our stay in this property, it well equipped and the hot tub was great. Good location, close to Tahoe city and King beach. I will recommend it for sure.
My husband and I had a great time at this quaint property for our anniversary weekend. Everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the gas fireplace and hot tub.

Great stay
We really enjoyed staying at Piney Wood cottage. The place was super clean when we arrived, well stocked kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfy. It was great that there's a nice slope in the back so we cleared our own sledding run - the kids loved that. Also bonus harry potter closet upstairs where they enjoyed playing. Jacuzzi was also great and a big hit.
One thing we didn't realize is that the twin beds upstairs are in a loft and open to downstairs. Our kids slept upstairs on the twin beds and we had to really turn the TV down not to wake them. It wasn't a big deal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We love this house and location - we have stayed here more than once. Great deck, hot tub, kitchen... we just love it

Would not stay again
This rental is managed by Tahoe Getaways. While they say that having the service of a management company is a plus, that was not our experience. We got into the hot tub on our first night and my hand felt "crusties" along the inside of the hot tub in the dark. Ewe. In the morning, you could see something really gross on the inside of the tub and underside of the cover. I called them and they said they were very busy because they had so many people checking in and didn't know if they could help us. And she said that it wasn't possible it was dirty because it was cleaned the day prior to our arrival. I had to convince her (Cherie?) that it wasn't clean and that it needed resolved - it was so frustrating. Finally she called back and said she would send someone. When he arrived, he said it was nothing and that if he drained the hot tub that we couldn't use it until the next day. So he cleaned it without draining it. The water still looked pretty gross so we ended up not using it the remainder of our stay. I also let her know a TV remote was missing, and she was unconcerned and noted that she couldn't help us with that.
The house itself is okay. While the main living room and kitchen area is large, the 2 bedrooms are tiny. The "master" bedroom on the main floor is so small that you can't open the closet and walk around the bed at the same time. And there is no TV in the bedroom. The bed seemed smaller than a Queen. There is no AC so the upstairs gets very hot in the summer. So it's a more rustic house. Unfortunately, they charged a very high price. Won't stay here again, and will avoid this management company in the future.
Cute cabin nestled in the woods between Tahoe City and Kings Beach. Clean, great location, and has everything you would want in a cabin: hot tub, large living room with TV, board games, fireplace, kitchen, grill, etc.
