About this property
Historic Lake Placid Home | Sleeps 14 | 6BR
Sleeps 14 in six bedrooms, just 200 meters from Lake Placid's Main Street. The Adirondack House is a turn-of-the-century Colonial Revival home on a private one-acre lot, fully renovated in 2021 — historic character, every modern comfort.

A TWO-MINUTE WALK TO MAIN STREET The house sits 200 meters from the shops, restaurants, and cafes of Lake Placid's Main Street — close enough to walk to dinner, the Olympic Center, or the Mirror Lake shoreline without moving your car. The Mirror Lake public beach is about a 6-minute drive, Whiteface Mountain is under 20 minutes, and High Falls Gorge is roughly 13 minutes out.
That location makes this an easy base for a Whiteface ski week, an Ironman training group, an Olympic-venue weekend, or a family reunion where nobody wants to split across hotel rooms.
A PIECE OF LAKE PLACID HISTORY Built at the turn of the century on land once owned by the Stevens brothers — Lake Placid's first hoteliers — this Colonial Revival home carries details you don't find in new construction: maple hardwood floors laid by George Stevens himself, Roman Doric columns, hand-carved beams in the living room ceiling, a servants' bell call system, a larder off the kitchen, and built-ins throughout. The 2021 renovation kept all of it while adding the comforts of a modern home.
THE BEDROOMS Each bedroom has its own name and character, and every one has a new mattress and a flat-screen TV.
The Wilmington Room, the primary suite, has a King bed, decorative stone fireplace, hardwood floors, handcrafted furniture, and large windows.
The Victoria Room and Brookside Room pair vintage finishes with modern furniture; both have Queen beds.
The Empire Room is a cozy, light-filled space, and the Look Out Below Room features classic accent pieces, high-end linens, and vintage furniture.
The Coyote Cut Room upstairs sleeps four — a Queen and two Twins — with original hardwood floors, a plush area rug, locally inspired artwork, and a blend of metal, wood, and earthy elements.
The sunroom office doubles as a sleeping space, with a couch that pulls out to a queen bed.
THE KITCHEN AND DINING The kitchen features hardwood floors, granite countertops, custom cabinets, and a layout built for cooking with a crowd. It's stocked with everything you'd want: coffee maker, blender, toaster, spice rack, gourmet knife set, wine glasses, and a dedicated wine bar with a wine cooler and specialty tableware.
The dining room is wrapped in windows and fills with afternoon light, with room for 10 or more around one table — whether that's takeout from down the street or a full family-style meal. A sunny breakfast nook off the kitchen seats four, perfect before a morning hike or for cards at the end of the day.
LIVING SPACES The living room combines earthy tones, leather furniture, vintage armchairs, original hardwood floors, and a wood-burning central fireplace. The sunroom looks out over the backyard and works as a quiet office if you're mixing work with the trip.
Downstairs, the basement is a full family rec room — ping pong, poker table, lounge furniture, books, movies, board games, and a flat-screen TV. It's where everyone ends up.
THE GROUNDS The house sits on a large lot with mountain views in the distance, surrounded by mature shade trees, with multiple patio and deck spaces, a BBQ, and a big backyard. Neighborhood parks and hiking trails are close by.

Spacious, sparkling clean, comfortable beds and furnishings, big kitchen and dining space, everything we needed for a fun family vacation! Few minute walk to town, hosts were warm and informative. House is gorgeous! Would definitely stay agai!
Perfect location!! This is our third trip to Lake Placid and by far the best house we have stayed in yet! The owners were extremely helpful when a situation came about and we needed to stay the extra day. Highly recommended staying here, I know we will def be back.
Beautiful home in a great location within walking distance to Main Street. Great living space to accommodate a large group with great outdoor options to enjoy the great views. Owners made the process extremely easy and were very helpful and easy to communicate with during the stay. Highly recommend.
The house was great for our family, lots of space, beautiful detail and in a very convenient location to town. The kitchen was amazing with top of the line appliances and every amenity you would want on vacation. There was a nice big yard and parking was awesome to accommodate our family.
We loved this home! The historic charm of the home is well preserved while having the comfort of modern living. Love the character. Extremely spacious. I don't think the pictures do it justice. Location couldn't be better for surrounding areas and walking distance to downtown Lake Placid. Would absolutely visit again!
Wow! What a lovely home. Lots of room and beautifully appointed with everything you can think of. The location was perfect for walking into Lake Placid. We were very impressed with the whole property. It has a large yard for kids to play in as well. We really enjoyed our stay and the Tucker’s were very nice to deal with. Thank you for sharing your picture perfect home with us!
My family and I could not have been more pleased with our week-long stay at the amazing Adirondack House at Lake Placid. From the beautiful period decor to the wonderful spaciousness of the house and grounds to the easy walking distance convenience to Mirror Lake and charming Lake Placid Village, our family vacation with kids and grand-kids (from ages 1 - 14) was fabulous. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, beaching, bobsledding and visiting the Olympic sites when not enjoying ourselves in the very attractive, clean, well-maintained and fully-equipped Adirondack House. We highly recommend the property and would return in a heartbeat!
The house was exactly as it was presented in the listing. It was spacious, nicely appointed and had everything we could possibly need. Our family of 9 adults was very impressed and we could gather together or find a quiet spot alone. Our only grumble was no A/C, but we knew about that going in and had we been there the week before or the week after the weather was much cooler and it wouldn't have been a problem.
The host was easy to work with and even sent a fan over at 10:00pm on evening.
We would absolutely stay there again.
Absolutely loved the charm, old times feel here at the Adirondack house. We learned about the history of the home and loved all of the touches to keep it feeling like we were stepping back in time. Communication was fantastic, location excellent and just a lovely stay. We would absolutely rent again when we visit
What a rental! It was a perfect location. It felt like home and nicely appointed. Our host was accommodating and easy to communicate with.We were a party of 10. Not only was there sufficient sleeping space but there was space for us to be together at the dining table and in the living room. There was also enough space for us to separate from the group and be comfotable. The kitchen accommodated the prep and cooking of all meals. It truly fit our needs and more. Many thanks to our host.
Magical family vacation. The house and location were spectacular. The rooms were very clean with cozy beds. Our large family all felt very comfortable and especially enjoyed everyone having their own bathroom. We’d go back!
Conveniently located. Walk to downtown. Historic home with lots of character and plenty of space for a large family or multiple families.

Such a beautiful home! We had a large group and we never felt crowded. The house was clean and well maintained. Great location with so much to do near by. Would highly recommend it!
Our stay at the Adirondack House was wonderful. The house and rooms were spotless and beautifully furnished. We loved the historical features of the home while still providing modern amenities. You can really tell that this property is cared for as a home and not just a rental. Check-in was a breeze and communication with the owner and maintenance was always quick and responsive at anytime of the day. The location of the house couldn’t be better - only a three minute walk to Main Street, but it’s far enough to be away from the crowds. The outdoor space and seating was another perk of the house. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Large Lake Placid Home
Large, older home in great location for Ironman and downtown Lake Placid. House does not have central air. Kitchen is updated.
Thank you so much for renting us your magical house for the NCAA Championship!
The house nurtured us to the best results ever. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was big enough to cook for 9, beds were comfortable and the vicinity to stores and downtown made it so easy to not have to drive everywhere.
The host was also very accommodative and heled us recover forgotten items!
If we head back to Lake Placid, we definitely want to stay there again!
Thank you
This home was perfect for our group of adults and children. It is a large home with plenty of room for a large group. Spacious living room, dining room, den/office and master suite. Kitchen is functional and well stocked. The main bedrooms are roomy and there are TV's in each which is not often the case in other rentals. Downstairs game room is fun for adults and kids. The home is quite charming based on the era it was built but is updated with modern amenities. Location is within easy walking distance to town and near grocery store, pharmacy, etc. yet in quiet neighborhood.
Communication with owner was excellent. Responded quickly to questions and provided incredibly detailed information before and during the stay. Overall, I highly recommend this property for groups, large and small.
