Private quiet cozy retreat nestled in the mountains of Jay NY located 10 minutes from Whiteface Mountain, 25 minutes from Lake Placid NY and 4.7 miles (about 8 minutes) to Wilmington NY. Pine Loft at Jay Chalet is attached to a main house but has private front, side and private back porch entrances. There is one carport and keyed access to the shed with gas grill inside. This loft sleeps 4 comfortably with a queen bed in the upper loft and a sleeper sofa in the main room.

Great way to explore the Adirondacks

The property was perfectly sized for a couple, the bed was extremely comfy and the living room area was very cozy for cold nights. The location is a very scenic drive away from Lake Placid and only around 10 minutes if that from Whiteface mountain.

Another fantastic weekend!

We stay at this unit because we’ve stayed several times before. It’s clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Near anything we need but also far enough away for quiet relaxation.

Great location and place!

Had a wonderful time at the Pine Loft! it was just me, but this would be great for 2-3 people too. The location is great too. I'm doing the ADK Fire Tower challenge and this home is perfectly located to knock out a bunch of towers in the North Country. Super close to Whiteface too. Thanks!

Our Road trip home away from home

My sister and I took a summer road trip to the Adirondack mountains and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jay. We visited Lake George, Lake Placid, and Lake Placid. We walked the AuSable Chasm and other waterfalls. We even explored Vermont. It was great to come “home” each night to our place in Jay. We enjoyed the back deck each morning (where we watched deer pass by) and cozy home each night. The hosts were incredibly responsive amd available. A fabulous time!!!

Place was cozy & amazing. I love staying at the place. Planning to visit in next year will definitely try to book this place again. Good price & location. Its about 20 min away whiteface mountain around 30 min from Hog George Fall and about 45 to 50 min lake placid. One thing I feel that should be there is a fan on loft area for flow of air. There is bug ceiling fan in living room but not that much helpful. Otherwise everything is perfect.

Great little stay

Great location, very peaceful in the woods and 25 min from trails & lake placid with all the basic amenities you need….very responsive host too. I appreciated the large comfy sofa & tv after a day of hiking. Fire pit was pretty awesome to have too (suggest you bring your own chairs) and we got wood from the grocery store nearby. The only thing I didn’t like was the bed which too soft for our liking and also the spiders/bugs in the chalet which freaked me out. We had a great weekend exploring the trails in the area!

Great place to get away

Everything was as pictured and as stated in description! Cozy, clean and comfortable little place for a couple. Instructions were clear and timely and there were some instructions on post-it’s around place that’ll answer what seems like common questions or concerns. Communication was quick and easy; I had a question in regards to plugging my electric vehicle as the nearest charging stations were about 25+ minutes away. I was able to charge my car using outlets outside of house and although it’s a slow charge with regular outlet, the overnight charge was plenty to get us to nearby attractions/chargers. WiFi in place works great and was an absolute necessity as there was absolutely no service for us in the location. As stated, Pine Loft is attached to another Vrbo but it is its own place. I do not think anyone was staying at next to us as I never saw any cars but we did hear people in there so not sure if it was cleaners or maybe someone did stay and was out early before we got up in morning. Either way, wasn’t a bother and made us feel pretty comfortable as we didn’t feel too alone. Property is kind of secluded but there are several houses within eye distance. Stay was about 25 minutes from Lake Placid and almost the same, maybe a little more from Ausable Chasm. We had plans for both so it was a great midway stay. I recommend stopping somewhere for groceries etc. as there is not a lot of places in Jay. There is one small grocery store near with very few necessities.

We’ve stayed here many times. It’s always a pleasure to return. We had a very relaxing weekend. The bed was super comfy, I had the best nights sleep in over a year. We look forward to returning soon!

Great host and property

This property was a perfect size for a 4 person snowboard trip. Everything was as described and the speed of the responses from the host was crazy even late at night! Short drive to the mountain and everything went as planned. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Another fantastic weekend

So relaxing!

My wife & I loved staying in this adorable post & beam cabin. A peaceful place, away from it all. The pine trees swaying in the tall front windows are so calming and all you hear are birds singing. Also, minutes from Wilmington NY. One of the most gorgeous spots in NY. Endless hiking trails! Can’t wait to return!

Birthday getaway to the mountains

My partner and I had plans to visit whiteface mountain and lake placid for a long weekend but wanted to stay somewhere a bit further out. Everything was exactly as promised. There were other visitors staying on the other side and we couldn’t hear them at all. We loved the cleanliness of the property while still getting to enjoy the natural beauty of the ADKs. We would definitely stay again!

Nice cabin in the woods. Kitchen stacked well and fridge is full size. Half way through our visit there was a state power outage. Host arranged for alternative lodging with no extra cost. Really appreciate the attention and responsiveness.

Melissa was a superb host. The chalet is in an excellent location, close to the best hiking (and skiing) in the Adirondacks. The chalet was well outfitted with great appliances, A/C and an extra large water heater. Very clean and comfortable. Smart TV…if you run out of things to do. Very thankful to host Melissa for a late checkout. On our next family visit to the Adirondacks, we will most definitely stay here!

Sanctuary in the woods

First, the experience was amazing from start to finish. The owners were very clear about check-in, check-out, and everything during our stay. They even had little notes so you don’t have to go searching for information. I stayed there with my daughter for a couple of nights so she could experience the beauty of the area. The loft was comfortable with plenty space for us. The couches were large and comfy. I can see myself staying here with friends to ski in the winter. This makes having a dryer even more exciting so you never have to ski in damp clothes from the snowy day before!! The kitchen had everything you could need and two of us were able to cook together without getting in each other’s way. We unfortunately didn’t get to use the fire pit, because Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. Besides the comfort, we enjoyed the peace and beauty of the location most! Can’t wait to return.
