The welcome reception was fast and friendly. The hotel itself was essentially a dorm. The hallways smelled as did the room. Although the room looked clean, it was small, had an old, small TV, and a tiny shower with two walls and an old school shower curtain that went around to cover the rest of it. No amenities except soap. When I asked for extra towels, the response was one of disbelief. Wasn't there a set of towels already in the room?
On the flip side, the view from the balcony was spectacular! And the staff were nice and helpful. Couldn't stay in the room so paid to upgrade to a suite which was much better (and three times the size!). Also, no smell in the room! Still a fantastic view though :)
