The bed was like sleeping in a tent on the ground. It was very hard. We were very disappointed and did not get any sleep left a 4 AM just so we didn't have to lay in the bed any longer.

Receptionist not welcoming but not rude. Given room 212. Walked down hallway to room, very smoke smell. It was covered up with some kind of perfume spray. Open room 212, my husband and myself walked out quickly due to strong perfume smoke smell. It made of feel sick. Told receptionist, she apologized and moved up to 103. It was better. But had some smoke smell coming from stairway. Need to have better restriction policies on people who should not be smoking in a non- smoking environment.

Weekend travel

It was a quick trip but enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, we felt safe, and really convenient. Our next trip to this area, we’ll definitely stay again!

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our overnight stay here. The location was good and convenient to everything. Our breakfast was very good. They offered scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and fruit. We would stay here again.

Holiday Inn Express in Clute, TX

This was our second time staying here at the Holiday Inn Express in Clute,TX. We love coming down to Surfside Beach and staying overnight. We've found that the other hotels weren't as clean as this one. You really get what you pay for when it comes to hotels. The morning breakfast was good as well.

Could have been worse I guess…

The staff were friendly at check in but the next night we needed something and the clerk had an attitude. They knocked on our door to ask if we had dirty towels so we handed them over and they did not swap out new towels. We were there more than one night so later on asked for more towels. The clerk had an attitude. Common sense is when you take towels to give towels. The hot tub smelled like a used toilet and the elevator was questionable. It wasn’t enough to make us leave but we will not be booking here again when there are so many more options to stay at.

Property was kind of dirty on the inside carpet and elevator, the bed was not soft nor were the pillows which made for an uncomfortable night, breakfast was ok but eggs were dry and over cooked. On the up side the front desk staff were nice.

Ok stay if you like bedrock beds

Comfortable beds are a must where I stay. I believe the bed I slept on could have passed for concrete . Fred Flinstone could have slept on it. The shower had great water pressure which is a must. Breakfeast was ok, it would have been better if they had working toaster. Also I got to breakfeast at 8:00am and all the bacon had been eaten. Asked worker if they had more bacon coming out . She explained that all bacon for the day had been put out. I guess they ratio it .

Everything great except for the towel situation

Everything was great overall! The only issue we had was our towel situation. We went out to the beach for a bit and came back to our room around 3pm to take showers and get ready for a wedding. We came back to our used towels gone and no replacements. We asked for towels and said none were available. So we had to shower without any towels! Not ideal.

At first our reservation was a large room with 2 separate private rooms or u can say a room in which you have 2 separatesoors or rooms, but when we arrived they told me that they have a single room, although our expedia reservation clearly says we have a large room with 2 private doors. Anyways, we have no choice as she said she has that kind of room but at triple the price. We took the single room, upon entrance the room, Bedsheets were v dirty, so we had to wait. Room service was very prompt and professional. Breakfast was good. Elevator was making weird noises. Overall, nice family place. V close to restaurants and convenient commute to Surfside beach. Only disappointed and confused why expedia booked us a false room and the hotel has different upon arrival. Front desk told me they cannot do anything although they agreed our reservation is different, and that he will take a note of it.

This was our 1st time staying at a holiday inn. We checked in on the 8th of July and checked out on the 11th. Day 1 the AC in our room is leaking and the floor is all wet, i told the front desk nothing was done. Then im charged for 5 people because thats how many I had in my party. Well the 5th person got the pull out bed of the couch but had no blankets or pillows for her. I went to the font desk again and they said it was extra for blankets and pillows for my 5th guess. So i just took off of the other beds and made due. After that I noticed our room wasnt cleaned its been 24 hrs, well now you have to request the rooms to be cleaned ( i wasnt told this). So every day i have to go back to the front desk and ask for towls because even though i requested the cleaning it wasnt done. On day 2 the fire alarms go off around midnight no one can tell us why my husbands PTSD is now horriable. Im now running low on potty paper and still having to clean the room myself by taking out the trash, getting new towls from the front. Nothing i have voiced my concerns about or asked for has been fixed. Day 3 still nothing has changed, the breakfast attendent (tall skinny and colored end hair ) is so rude . She will bump into you and act like your bothering her and I even said Good morning and turned the other way and ran into the bathroom with her phone. I asked when will the cinniamon rolls be out and she replyed its the weekend we dont do cinniamon rolls (that was a bummer). The breakfast is

Everything was great. My only complaint was all the pillows were too thick, giving a crick in my neck the first night. I purchased a cheap smaller pillow und used it for the remaining nights and slept well.
