Looking for something a bit more unique? Come unwind and relax in Moonlight Sands - a contractors own home expertly & efficiently designed and remodeled! This modern romantic Cottage is small but mighty and located just a few blocks from the beautiful beach- bring your water toys! While small in stature, everything you need is here and done so with exquisite taste from finishes to furnishings to decor. With the original 50’s era shiplap and craftsman doors, you're sure to experience that unique 'fun in the sun' vacation experience you've been desiring!
*This is a unique home with creative design maximizing the beautiful original finishes and materials while ensuring weary travelers have the comforts of today everyone expects. We have worked hard to ensure you find our home clean and comfortable, having restored this home past it’s original beauty and then some. Step inside our gorgeous walk-in shower, relax on our deck, and sleep in as late as you want as you reconnect with your family and yourself.

Living room sleeps 3- two on a brand new queen sleeper sofa and one one the couch. Bedroom sleeps two on a very comfortable double bed.

Other Features Included: large deck with seating for a large group - take in the views from all around. We provide a gas grill, ceiling fans throughout inside, Internet/WIFI, SmartTVs, a washer and dryer and a full kitchen with all the amenities you need to stay and eat in while maximizing your family time. Eating out-walking to the jetty shack for a great burger and seafood or taking a short drive to one of the many local restaurants in our area is so easy.

AREA: No touristy chain restaurants, shops or hotels. Just chillin' beach bar and grills, food (and beverage) trucks (like Surfin Rita Daiquiris To-Go), burger joints (like Pier 30 and Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill) and tasty fresh seafood options (like Seahorse Bar & Grill and Red Snapper) line the water. Surfside is your simple relaxing sandy beach, water sporting, surfing, fishing and crabbing vacation destination.

Surfside Beach is located around an 1 hr drive to Houston on Texas Highway 288 depending on traffic. For out-of-town visitors, Houston Hobby Airport is within easy driving distance offering many carriers making air travel reasonable and convenient Just rent a car and enjoy the drive down!

DOG-FRIENDLY: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs considered, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee ($75 for 1 dog, extra $50 for 2) per stay. .

Wonderful stay!

The house is small, cozy, and very clean and well maintained. I loved how close it is to Surfside Jetty so i could go fishing after work. Excellent place for couples or a small family.

Wonderful stay!

We truly enjoyed our week at Surfside in the house. It was relaxing and peaceful. Short walk to the pier and ocean. It was fun to get up in the morning and step out to the roaring ocean and beautiful sunrise.

The house was cute and clean. It’s in a quiet little neighborhood South of the causeway. It was exactly what we needed for the two nights we were there.

Great Beach Getaway!

Perfect beach house for a getaway! My husband and I had a great stay for the weekend with our two pups. The house and property was very clean and short walk to the beach! The host was very easy to communicate with, if I had any questions. We would definitely stay again!

Great weekend at Surfside

Little house was adorable; very close to the jetties…we were able to see some ships, which was fun for the small children. The owners were very accommodating. We always enjoy coming to Surfside. Had a great weekend at the beach.

Nice Getaway

My wife and I stayed at this cozy Surfside beach house and really enjoyed it. It was clean, cool and close to the beach and jetty. Rob, the property owner, was responsive and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was great. I would definitely stay here again or try another of Rob’s properties in Surfside.

Comfort bliss

Our weekend stay was excellent. This home is so cute and comfortable! Just a short walk to the beach, and the fact that its pet friendly made it even better! My family enjoyed our time there. The host makes sure you have everything you could possibly need. Comfy little space to stay at, definitely will be booking again.

Easy Stay

The stay was lovely for a quick beach weekend and a work from home day. Property was the perfect size for my partner and I, and our small-medium sized dog. Two notes: there were small ants in the bathroom, and the AC never got cold (really never below 74, sometimes as high as 79). But overall, great stay!

Just What We Wanted

Cozy, quiet, and comfortable which was just what we wanted. The cottage was easily accessible from the main Hwy and had easy access to food, sightseeing, and adventure. We can’t give a rating on the nearby beach since it was off season and kinda chilly.

Comfortable Little Vacation House

My son & I rented the house to be close to my other son & family who were staying 2 blocks away. The house was great for just the 2 of us.My son slept on the sleeper sofa. The location was nice & easily accessible to the beach. The kitchen had adequate accessories needed to make quick meals.

Surfside Beach is a go

There was a little mess up when accessing the property that was immediately resolved. Very spacious for 600 square feet as well as updated and clean. Also included all necessities, including plates, paper towels, utensils, hair dryer and toiletries.

Weekend getaway

Communication with the host was 5 stars within minutes of booking. Even when I made a mistake in booking, he was quick to offer a solution to make our weekend plans seamless and enjoyable. The arrival directions were spot on and easy to follow. The house is perfectly located- you get a peek at the ocean, but are just far enough away to enjoy the quiet neighborhood. Stores and restaurants are walking distance. The house was meticulously cleaned and had every kitchen and bathroom item we needed. They even had beach towels and chairs for our use. The bed was super comfortable. All the comforts of home made this rental a great spot for the weekend. We will definitely return!

Great Little Getaway

I really enjoyed our stay at this house! It was just me and my partner and it was the perfect size for us! The house smelled great, and it had everything we needed. The house itself is a little older, but it added to the charming quality of the overall appeal to the place. A plus was the bathroom was updated and had a vanity mirror and a nice large, updated shower which was perfect after spending all day at the beach! Definitely a quick 3 min walk to the beach by the jetty, which was nice for morning walks. Be prepared to drive further down the beach for a good beach day; however you could get away doing a beach day at the beach by the house. It was quiet at night and also pretty quiet during the day, so it was peaceful being there. The steps to the house aren’t too high, so it’s easy to get your things up and down from the house. Overall recommend this house for a good quick getaway to the beach! Will be back!

Great Vaca Rental

This beach cottage was perfect for a girls trip!! This adorable cottage was very clean, fully stocked with needed condiments, any possibly forgotten bathroom toiletries, along with laundry soap. This cottage was perfect size for the three of us. The owner of the property was prompt with communication, allowed us earlier check in along with checking in to make sure the a/c units were keeping us comfortable with the crazy TX heat wed been having. If needing a larger beach Cottage, next door to this property is a beautiful 3 bedroom, also newly remodeled, amazingly kept cottage with the same owners. We can’t wait to get back to Surfside and hope one of these properties are available.

Perfect Stay

Most excellent cozy house for relaxation and rest. Had everything my wife and I needed to recover between her appointments at MD Anderson. Preparing meals in the well equipped kitchen was so much better than fast food. Lotta coffee! Lol! Walked to the beach, swam, watched birds, ships and fishermen. The ocean was beautiful. Felt safe and slept well. Couldn’t be happier. Owner was gracious and responded immediately. Thank you!

Great Rental

I would give this rental 5 stars across the board if not for the misleading listing regarding the beds. The bed in the bedroom is a full size bed not a queen. This would have been a dealbreaker when booking as I am 6’3” and my legs hang off the end of a full size bed.The listing claims the couch is a queen but it is not. A pull out couch is not a queen bed, especially this style where it simply pulls up another row of couch cushions. Great for snuggling and watching a movie. And we would never book a rental with the intent of sleeping on the couch. Photos and labeling of rooms and beds on the listing was misleading at best. Hopefully that gets fixed. I’m am including a screen shot of the listing showing the room labeling discrepancy. Couches were also different from photo. **EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PERFECT!** Very Clean, and all the amenities one could ask for in a vacation rental. We even appreciated the little things that we don’t normally get with rentals (like condiments, cooking oil, good toilet paper, travel toiletries, laundry soap, beach chairs, etc). Perfect size rental for 2-3 people and is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Communication with the host was great and for what it is worth they did apologize for the bed situation and tried to make it up to us (which I do appreciate).Don’t hesitate to book this place if you can deal with the full size bed (which did have a very comfy mattress).
