The bathroom was really nice and the beds were comfortable. But there was a lot of dust and the air conditioner had mold in it. I couldn't stop sneezing.

My family and I were in the area because I was officiating a wedding in Bemidji, Minnesota. It was the perfect location for us to visit friends and family, spend time at Itasca State Park, and attend the wedding in Bemidji.The room was very clean. While it was modest, it still had the cozy log-cabin feel of an older log home. The owner was wonderful and provided extra towels whenever we needed them. The boys especially enjoyed the ice cream shop next door.

Visit at Lake Itaska State Park

Lodging was nice, well appointed and charming decor. Location was ideal, practically at the State Park. The visit was a very nice experience.

Big Timbers was very comfortable and clean. So close to the entrance of Itaska State Park, which is where we spent our days! Such a beautiful area! Loved it!

Happy visitors

Great location close to Itasca Park. Clean and comfortable room. Owner has Ice Cream parlor a few steps away - which was key after an active day. Would certainly stay there again

Great Location

We were lucky to find Big Timbers for our Itasca State Park weekend. The location is ideal being right across the street from the North entrance. The rooms perfect size for a small family or couple. Everything was new and clean and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the ice cream and pizza from the store on site.

Big Timbers

Big Timbers is a wonderful place to stay. It is right at the north entrance to Itasca State Park. It is clean and comfortable and there is plenty of space. I love the cabin feel to the room. It has such a cute gift shop with pizza and ice cream available. We would stay here again.

Great location close to Itasca

We loved the proximity to the park and had a really great stay. The host was friendly and helpful. My kids loved the ice cream shop next door. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend it!

Trip to Itasca State Park

Christine, the owner of the VRBO, was very friendly and accommodating! The place is lovely and just outside of the park. We rode out bikes into the park both days! We would highly recommend this place! Five star in our book!!

Across the Road From Itaska State Park

Clean, close, convenient to the park. The back window looks out at a forest of pine, where we saw a large flock of wild turkeys one morning. If your plan is to visit the place where the Mississippi River begins, this is the place to stay.

Trip to Itasca State Park

The place was very new, clean, comfortable, quiet & relaxing. Great location, too. Basically right next to the north entrance of Itasca State Park where we spent our time. After a long day of exploring & hiking, we looked forward to relaxing back at our room, sleeping in comfortable beds with A/C & running water. To us it was the best way to go “camping”. There is an ice cream/gift shop next door to our unit where we treated ourselves to ice cream cones. And across the street is a general store/gas station if you need to purchase convenience items. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean and Super Comfy!

Loved the room to stay in for a couple days. We needed a last minute alternative to tent camping, and Big Timbers had a room available for us. Just a short distance from the North Entrance of Itaska- it made the family adventure much more comfortable and doable for us this year. Worked great for a family with young kids and 36 week pregnant mama! Loved it and would recommend! The ice cream and gift shop was an added bonus - especially for the kids after long adventure days at the state Park.

Maybe should not be called a lodge?

Lovely room in a set of 4 maybe more like a motel large parking lot no landscaping out front. That being said, the room itself was great. The location near the north entrance was super convenient. I just because of it's name expected something else so was a bit disappointed to start.

The rooms were beautiful and spacious and my entire family loved everything! Located right at the North Entrance of the park and close to everything we wanted to do! My son’s favorite part was the ice cream parlor and gift shop right next to the room! Can’t say enough nice things about the property or the owners and staff and will be recommending Big Timbers to everyone!
