GLAMP BERNICE ON BEAUTIFUL ADIRONDACK HOBBY FARM
At the edge of a wildflower meadow with mountain views, this beautifully furnished glamping tent has two queen beds, lamps, Oriental rug and private deck.
Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires, star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below. Golf cart service to your tent.
We have four glamping tents, Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Bernice and Glamp Thomas which are spaciously set apart for privacy yet an easy walk to the Bath House and the Lodge where each glamping tent has its own kitchenette.
The tents have a “fly” over them so they stay remarkably cool during the day and completely waterproof. At night, zip up the canvas windows and doors, and stay cozy under handmade feather quilts.
The new Bath House has a women’s side with two toilets, a shower and double vanity with glass vessel sinks; ditto for the men’s side. In the nearby Lodge, there is also a lovely new bathroom with an old-fashion claw foot tub where you can enjoy a deep bath with lavender salts. We provide nice towels and soap.
In the Lodge, there are individual kitchenettes for each of our four glamping tents. It has a sink, one burner cooktop, coffee maker, compact refrigerator, dishes, cutting board, glasses, utensils, napkins and basics of salt, pepper, sugar. Bring your own coffee and cream. There are open shelves for you to store your groceries.
Outside are several charcoal grills and a gas grill. We provide charcoal and lighter fluid.
We spent the fall and winter of 2019 building an amazing all natural cedar hot tub. Located on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our new Japanese wood hot tub is a delightful treat for our guests. Built within a small post and beam temple-like structure with gorgeous views of the mountains beyond and wildflowers below, our spa tub is a wonderful way to relax during your stay. $25 for an hour’s retreat of happiness.
Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon and when the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas (we also have toppings). Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Oh, most toppings should be sautéed in advance since the cooking time in the oven is so short.
At dusk, we get the bonfire going so guests can relax in hand-built Adirondack chairs to watch the fire and the stars. There is no “light pollution” so it is an amazing experience to see thousands of stars, night clouds, moonscapes.
Enjoy getting your breakfast eggs from the henhouse. Our flock of chickens and ducks are fun to watch as they free range all over the property. The ducklings enjoy it when there is fresh water run into their little swimming pool --- they are so joyous when they’re in water. The ducks are sweet but shy away from people (oh no! humans!). Unlike the chickens that wander all day and come back together to the coop only to sleep, the ducks are co-dependent and stick together all the time; if one duck is separated, they all quack until they get back together. So yes, country life can be noisy with the chickens cackling and the ducks quacking!
And of course there is Sammy Dog, a lab/shepherd mix, who bounds around the property, visiting all our guests, laying down on the porch and steps waiting for people to come home. Be careful coming down the driveway because he sometimes leaps unexpectedly in front of cars all goofy and happy. He can come in and even sleep over if you want (just send us a text message so we know where he is).
Our cabins are set up for visiting dogs, but unfortunately we cannot host dogs in the tents.
The lake is three miles down the winding road …13th Lake it is called and it is just beautiful. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby.
The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places and a scenic train called the Saratoga/North Creek Railroad which takes folks in antique train cars along the Hudson River.
Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River. They rent mountain bikes and have all kinds of walking trails.
Lots and lots more to do … check our online Guide Book for more suggestions!
So .... Enjoy amazing mountain day views and glorious stargazing by night ... this might be the most special vacation you’ve ever had! Quiet and tranquil … safely and privately located at the edge of our Hobby Farm where you can enjoy a beautiful tent, ducks and chickens, and sweet lab dog.
If you're looking for additional space, we have other cottages on the property as well ... Authentic Adirondack Bird Camp, Farmstand Guest House, Camp HudsonView, Camp Twosome, Camp Lillian, Camp Bossie and Camp Finale, all listed on this site.

Glamp Bernice & the Hobby Farm is hands down my new favorite vacation spot. The views are endless and gorgeous, the environment is so safe and peaceful, and the host & her daughter are amazing! My boyfriend and I loved it and plan on returning on our own & with friends in the future!
Stay in a tent, but a very comfortable one! Lovely ground and kind hosts. Felt like we were staying iat a friend's country retreat. m Must come back for more !
We had a great time, arrived on a friday, quick activity down the road on a rail bike, then leslie's ( owner) notable woodfired homemade pizza. Smores around a perfect communal campfire and a good night in a tent cabin. The ammenities fit our every need, the kitchen and bath houses made this true " glamping".
Adorable farm with quaint houses for pizza making, cooking area and bath house. Glamp tents are a fun experience. Peaceful area, beautiful grounds and sky full of stars make this stay memorable. Hosts are so nice and make sure you have everything you need.
We had a wonderful time. It was some quality time with my daughter that i will cherish. The glamping tents were adorable. Everything was so neat and organized in the kitchenette. I definitely recommend the handmade pizza! The hot tub was relaxing. We plan on going back in the fall.
We were greeted by 2 dogs before the host met us at the office door when we arrived and we stayed 3 comfortable nights. It was chilly weather but we had a thick comforter on our bed so we could enjoy the fresh air and still be warm. We had pizza with our host the first night and there were coffee shops for breakfast and coffee in the towns nearby we visited over the next few day. We kayaked on 13th lake nearby as well which was peaceful. The bathrooms were very nice at this site and clean as well.
Leslie and Emeline make the ADK Hobby Farm like visiting family friends. The landscape and gardens are so inviting and the lodging is comfortable! It NEVER felt like I was in a tent, even though it was a cold rainy night.
Leslie's Friday night pizza is a MUST! Plus, when we left, she loaded my car with lovely peppers and flowers on the house. She was just such an amazing host! Thank you! Thank you for such a great time!
Step away and unplug from everyday life by glamping at this location. The glamping tents are large and have wooden floors. There is a screened-in porch with Adirondack chairs and an open back deck area. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. There is also a bug screen inside the tent to reduce the number of insects. There is electricity along with an electric fan and heater. There are many things to see and do within a short drive. Take advantage of the wood-fired pizzas made by the owners. Very yummy!! Each tent is assigned a fully stocked kitchenette with utensils, small refrigerator and a hot plate. Gas and charcoal grills are also available. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our time and will return.
We had such a wonderful time! The location is so peaceful and scenic and the drive to 13th lake for swimming was just a few minutes. Absolutely hope to stay again!
We loved our stay! The property is amazing and the hosts were wonderful. We enjoyed the brick oven pizza and the sweet dogs. We will absolutely be back!
Host Leslie was concerned about having us stay in Glamp Bernice during the 30-degree night, so she offered a heated cabin instead, which was pure delight. It is beautifully built and decorated, fully equipped with kitchen and bathroom supplies (except we couldn't find pot holders or dish towels), and provided spectacular views through the many large windows. And it was WARM!

Loved everything from being greeted by the dogs as soon as i pulled up to the amazing mountian view and just simplicity of the entire property. Everything is extremely well kept and well thought out . Will definitely be returning and cant wait !
Our third annual visit. I think we’ve officially started a tradition. Leslie and Emaline are great hosts. The glamping experience is charming, we always meet new people, and we look forward to seeing Sammy and Bella (dogs).
Well, build and maintain property. Just would’ve liked to have the grass mown between the tent and the bathhouse.

What an amazing experience! This glamping site is not like other campsites; it is a breath of fresh air! The ladies that run this place work hard to make sure that you have an amazing experience! Yet there is no internet (not a bad thing) and no playground, my 8year old loved the Lodge and all the board games. But think the best part for her was feeding the chickens and collecting eggs. From the fresh out of the oven pizza on Friday, to the made from scratch country breakfast - this place will not disappoint. Maddie asked to come back in October and to our surprise they are offering cooking classes - pasta! Give this unique family ran glamping a try you will not disappoint
Each fathers day my I take my son, now 11 on a vacation. This "Glamping" experience was a great way to get outdoors, experience the Adirondack region and have a camping experience without the hassle of planning and packing all the gear and supplies needed for camping.
The host were great to work with, kind and lovely people. The site is like a "homesteading" farm complete with chickens and a huge garden. It was very peaceful, convenient, clean ans beyond our expectations for convenience.
We loved pizza night!
Highly recommend!
We went white water rafting and Rail biking which were both less than 20 minute drive. Lots of hiking opportunities in the area! 30 min drive to Adirondack experience and an hour drive is the Wild Center.
Tip:There is on site Wifi at the kitchenette barn and it was great/ worked very well, but your tent will likely not have cell service.

The Hobby Farm was a beautiful site. The amenities were ample and clean. Kitchenettes for every glamp tent! The glamp tent was very well appointed and comfy. We would definitely recommend Hobby Farm and go back.
We stayed here for a wedding at a venue a few miles away.
This was an incredible place to stay. Comfortable little cabins/tents. Clean kitchenette and bathroom. The host has a few dogs that ran around and joined us on our little porch in the mornings.
Unfortunately, we were not able to spend much time on the property as we had a full schedule, so we missed pizza nights and sitting next to the camp fires.
We are very much looking forward to going up to visit again when we have more time. Even just sitting outside our tent was so relaxing.
My girlfriend and I love the wildflowers, vegetable gardens, and star gazing. This was absolutely our ideal weekend getaway. Can’t wait to go back.
My daughter Drew and I spent our 2nd visit here on a little hiking and sight seeing getaway. It is such a fun place. You can have as much privacy as you want or you can make new friends around the wood fired pizza house and the bonfire. We fell asleep to the hoot of an owl, woke around 4:30 to the howls of coyotes. It was as much of a blast as our first visit last summer and we have already decided to return again in 2023. Thanks Leslie and family. Also loved the addition of spunky little Bella as well as Sammy the dog who we met last year. Bella visited with us in our tent, curled around my feet at the bonfire, and also slept on the floor of our kitchen while we ate breakfast
Great communication leading up to trip.
Driving up to the gorgeous property and being greeted by the hosts let us know we were in thr "right" place.
We loved everything about our stay.!
