My wife and I stayed here for our elopement. It was a very warm and welcoming environment. It has all the amenities to stay comfortably and the charm of feeling like you are in a mountain cabin out in the forest by yourself. It is a great stay with a magnificent view of Lake San Cristobal.
Lake was just across the street, very quiet area. Great for morning or afternoon on the front deck. We were able to take our SxS right to Alpine Loop or Lake City.
My husband and I stayed at the Nordic Lakeview Cabin with our labrador for our anniversary. The view from this cabin is absolutely breathtaking. It is a quaint and cozy cabin, plenty big enough for the two of us and our dog. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. Communication with Tannah was excellent. We ended up extending our stay an extra night.
Great location with incredible view. Cabin is as described and property management communication was good. Only 3 miles to town. OHV, hiking and fly fishing haven. Mosquito season so be prepared because you will want to bbq and hang out on the deck.
There is no better view of Lake San Cristobal than from cabin 2!! We worked here, and were married here, when this was the Golconda Resort 40 years ago and were so happy to find this is still a true hidden gem. The Aspens were in full color and even woke up one morning to a light snow. The cabin is charming and very clean.

Location is the ONLY thing this cabin has going for it. It is located across the street from the lake. We had booked this cabin back in Feb & recently purchased a toy hauler camper to haul our SXS, which is apparently against the HOA rules, for it to be parked there by the cabin. The HOA really should to be more concerned about their properties conditions. The cabin was nasty, just filthy & needed a DEEP cleaning, which I was told had just been done when they opened it up for the year. The logs were really dusty, it looked like it had not been vacuumed, there was mouse poop in the silverware drawer and don’t use the toaster, it’s full of poop! My husband had something crawling on him in the middle of the night and the furniture was all very broken down & dirty. I refused to sit on the sofa. It was so nasty and you sink in it about to the floor. The orange fabric of it is slick and visibly dirty, black in places. We have been to Lake City before and stayed at a cheaper cabin at the lake, that was a lot better. Also it was the most poorly furnished VRBO that we’ve ever rented, so make sure you bring everything! We ended up leaving and getting a refund and staying at a campground in our camper & it was a much more enjoyable stay. The property manager was good at communicating and issued my refund right away. I was so disappointed with the condition of the cabin, I can’t believe it has such good reviews and for the price, I expected better furniture & to be clean & comfortable.
This was a little cabin, just fine for the three of us and our small dog.The view of Lake San Cristobal was breathtaking: visible from the cabin's main window!
We had a great and quiet time at the well equipped cabin. The cabin had everything we needed, and it was clean. The view from the cabin was beautiful. We saw deer and osprey right from the deck. Lake City is a gem and there are many areas and activities to explore.
We totally enjoyed our stay. The weather was great for the most part and the fall colors were fantastic. It was very relaxing, and we would certainly return.
The pictures do not so the view justice! We had such an amazing time in this cabin with our little pups. There’s way more to do in Lake City than I thought and just sitting on the deck was my favorite part. We had to reach out to the staff one time and they were super helpful. 15/10 recommend renting this little piece of heaven.
Our stay was perfect. The view is amazing. The cabin is small but thoughtful. We enjoyed fishing and hiking around the lake. And beginning and ending the day with the best view of the lake and the surrounding mountains was just what I was looking for. PS. we watched a moose swim across the lake!

Lacking Comfort
Property was small, but knew that going in. Things we did not pick up on from photos were lack of storage, bedrooms extremely crowded, couch not comfortable and bathroom space very small with a free standing shelving unit that was taking up some valuable floor space and shower that was frustratingly small. Weather stripping around door coming off and at least one of screens had a rip which was ‘patched’ with a piece of cloth. The biggest regret was not having a cover over patio/porch to sit outside during afternoon rain showers or to read a book in the shade.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here, recreating our stay (at the same cabin!) from 1972. The cabin was lovely, the weather was perfect, and the view stunning.
I am amazed that we were back in the same cabin, enjoying the same view, from the same picture window - after 50 years!
The cabin was as aderstived and the pictures don't do justice of the views you get from this cozy cabin! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with cooking items. All around it was a wonderful stay and already looking forward to booking it again for next year.
Great views! It was nice to have space for all of our toys. Cabin was was well stocked. It was nice to have access to an outside grill. We had a great time.
Excellent access to the Alpine loop and Lake San Cristobal. Cabin was just that, a cabin. If you plan on an extended stay realize there are no closets but well placed hooks in both bedrooms for your hanging things. Beautiful view from the couch or the front porch. Essential kitchen utensils and dinnerware are plenty. The on demand hot water can't be beat. Only one TV mounted in kitchenette area but on adjustable wall mount. But you got the view and probably won't spend much time in the cabin anyway. Overall a nice get away.
To say the view is priceless is selling this place short! It was a great place to relax for a few days and enjoy tons of 4WD trails. Just wish the beds and sofa had been more comfortable - kind of like Goldilocks- one bed was too hard and one bed was too soft. Oh well, the view more then made up for it
