  • The Elk Log Home - 4 queen beds in 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths – washer and dryer – internet with streaming entertainment - views from property of waterfall, river & mountains. Great log home located on river estates in the San Juan Mountains. Is hand-crafted of natural Colorado spruce and fir logs in 19th century style. Comfortable and airy. Full kitchen, dining, living with couch. Front porch and upstairs balcony. Fire pit. BBQ. Designated spacious trailer parking area. Spectacular views and private fishing along both sides of river. Log cabin estates, 14 acres, playground, picnic pavilion, horseshoes, and hoops. ATV drive-in and drive-out to trailheads. Elevation 8670 ft. Lake Fork of the Gunnison at playground and pavilion. Lots of furry and feathered friends’ sightings and visitations. We do not use pesticide chemicals. We are subject from time-to-time to dusty mountain breezes. Please contact us for more frequent cleaning as necessary. Outside smoking only. Our log home is close to parks, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and the expansive National Forest of the San Juan Mountains. The quaint Victorian mining town of Lake City is 1 mile north - nice flat walk. We are available nearby at our main home on the premises 24-7 to help with any questions or issues that may arise.

We traveled in July fully prepared for bare minimum in the facility. We were surprised it had more than we thought for utensils etc…. It’s convenient right near town, hard to park big trailers (we had UTVS) because of the narrow bridge and 15 pieces of heavy equipment and lumber piles so make sure u don’t pull in after dark. We were hot the entire time. One would think when it’s in 60s at night it would cool off but we traveled without fans and there’s no fans for sale anywhere locally and it’s 90 degrees during the daytime. Phyllis was nice and the property managers answered all our messages promptly. We did have a squirrel living in the house and ran thru the kitchen during our stay and left droppings upstairs. So price of stay is because of convenience not for top quality of place we stayed.

Horrible

We left after 3 days. The house was disgusting. There was a bat living in the house and as you can imagine there was bat poop and urine everywhere. We asked for help and the manager told us they would come. They never did. Horrible exchange with the owner. He threatened to call the sheriff on an elderly couple and their 50 year old son. We are currently fighting the 4000.00 charge. This house was poorly represented on this website.
