Neat cabin on the lake

A great place to stay if you are exploring the Alpine Loop or the many beautiful aspen lined mountain drives around here. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and furniture, as well as the fire pit out by the lake! The house does have just one bathroom, which was okay for 4 adult men but may not be great for all groups. And it does adjoin another unit, separated by a double door off the dining room, so we could hear the adjoining renters talking at times. So it would probably be optimal to rent both Big Bear and Little Bear if I were going to be back there in the future.

Big Beary Good Time

We rented big bear cabin for a week.. the cabin was as advertised. Not great, but not bad. Back porch/yard area was awesome, great views. Cabin was pretty clean overall, bathroom and kitchen clean also. There’s allot to like about the place,, layout, neighbourhood and proximity to Lake City. However, there are some things that need to be addressed.. The upstairs loft smelled of urine and there were visible mouse droppings next to what appeared to be some sort of mouse trap. There is a squirrel living in the ceiling of the TV room, not a safety concern, just a little disturbing.. you can hear it at all times. The cabin is a duplex, with only a locked door separating the two units,, we were annoyed and distracted by how easily the renters of the adjoining cabin were heard, there is no sound mitigation and we heard every word they said, especially over night, very annoying. We were awoken by a bear attempting to enter the unit through the back sliding door, good times. Some other things that could be easily improved- the lack of handle on the inside of bathroom door , lack of ample trash bags, toilet paper, dishwashing and clothes detergent. Overall, we had a great time,, would definitely return if the above issues were to be resolved.
