First off we arrive and are informed that the shuttle for the casino isn’t running…we stayed here to literally go to the casino so that was a bummer… whatever… not that big of a deal. We get in our room and immediately notice crumbs and dirt all over the floor. The room had not been vacuumed at all. Both nightstands had crumbs on them, there was a cigarette burn on the comforter, the walls were scuffed and dirty, the vanity in the bathroom had not been wiped down. Overall it was clear that the room was not cleaned well at all. It was very gross. We both woke up sore due to the bed feeling like it was full of bricks. The air conditioner was extremely loud and woke us up multiple times. Just not a good experience at all. Then we walk out to get some breakfast and find a bucket of granola bars next to a bucket of orange juice…that was it. Extremely disappointing and the price we paid was not near worth what we got. Will NOT ever be staying at a marriot anywhere from now on.

I don't know how it was rated 4.5 stars when it was actually a 1 star place. The room needed some repairs, the was dirty, the out side fireplace was inoperable, no really breakfasts offered, the lounge was closed and roped off. Last time that I ever stay at that hotel ever. Very disappointed with the place and the cost.

Somehow my reservation got cancelled (not by me) and the lady at the front desk was rude and unhelpful at check in while we sorted out the mistake. Otherwise, great location and nice hotel.

This was a $100 room, i paid over $200
Carpet was dirty, sheetrock damaged above window. Noise from staff outside my door throughout the evening going into another room, bathtub didn't drain. On business with local sheriffs dept, they daid it was safe area, only reason i stayed. Was tired after long drive.

There were dead roaches in the bathroom. The air conditioner was non functional. The restaurant was closed due to construction. The night staff failed to answer repeated calls. It was just a terrible experience, especially for a Courtyard by Marriot.

Room was very dusty and dirty. Found candy wrappers on the side of bed. Mirrors were not clean. Had to ask for trash bags, toilet paper and clean towels because there is no room service unless you stay 7 nights. There was roaches in room crawling by the AC.

I was charged an extra night when we checked in when I had already paid for 2 nights prior to our visit. The room was not very clean, the AC unit wasn’t properly working.

The condition of our room was terrible. First the door would hardly open or close, literally throw your shoulder out doing it. Shower was dirty, the backing plate behind control falling off, and you couldn’t get water temp to acceptable temp because the handle would just spin (broken). Extra mirror in bathroom was scratched up and had dried paint all over it so you could see squat. Extremely disappointed in the hotel. Also, no continental available because lounge area also under construction.

The property is not being properly maintained. Just in my room, there were multiple lights burned-out, the TV remote could not control the power or volume level (and while the tv had a power button, there was no way to ever change the volume), and the thermostat didn't work. The entire lobby was blocked off with construction tape, and no construction was going on at all. Very disappointed.

Very helpful staff, and clean hotel. Only issue was very little water pressure in the sink (but not the rest of the bathroom), and no real way to adjust the HVAC temps in the room.

Come on. You should do better than this!
Clear notice that rooms will not be cleaned daily needs to be told up front at check-in. All management staff need to realize situations and treat people with respect … since they. are paying a premium for the room. Also, I kept getting asked if I booked through Marriott. I viewed the particular hotel online and clicked book on it… apparently it took me to Expedia — if it is such a big deal that they hotel can’t really help you if you book outside them, the website should reflect that you are being taken to a third party and not Marriott like we are attending. The room had its moments… took a few hours to figure out that the thermostat on the wall did nothing and that you had to tinker with the unit in the floor…which was a bit of a rattle trap. There was no proof in this room that it was cleaned and disinfected with a COVID protocol … some that is the excuse the manager gave why they would not clean the room daily or even knock on the door to ask if you need additional soap or towels like most people do. Where was breakfast? They blocked off a huge square when you walk in as being under construction. You also cannonly come in one side of the hotel because the side door, which has a card read RBI’s not working. Look, I know we’re in pandemic times and that Lake Charles has been recovering from massively storms. However, other people can figure out to so these basic things for their guests… why can’t this hotel? Especially at OVER $200 a night.

The room was very nice. No hair dryer in room, I called for one but never received one. The kitchen area was under construction so no coffee or breakfast.

When I showed up to check in, I was told they were overbooked and had to go to the other hotel to get check in since they had rooms. When I showed up they said they couldn’t check me in. I went back and forth like four times. When I asked again what was the whole situation, I was told they didn’t have housekeeping to clean the rooms. I offered to clean my own room to have a place to rest up was told I couldn’t. After waiting to hear what was the plan and searching for other hotels, I was told the room was clean. I when to my room and in the sheets there were hairs, and some of the towels were dirty.
