Beautiful as they were, the pictures alone do not do this home justice!! Gary and Stacey have a perfectly appointed respite awaiting you. From the moment you pull up and see the garden, you are steps away from a breathtaking view across the property to the water. You'll enjoy the morning sunrise out the back windows while you make breakfast (with every kitchen tool you might not even know you needed!)
There was plenty of space for our group to sleep and play (5 aunts and uncles + 4 kid cousins) including an "Eagle's Nest / Princess Loft" area for the kids. The Rec room above the garage gives you access to more beds, ping pong, a gym setup to rival any fitness center + lounging and TV space. Eating dinner in the breezeway was a perfect way to enjoy being outside without the bugs! The beds, linens, pillows and towels rivaled a fine hotel. Not hyperbole. Everywhere you look, you feel the care put into the home. It does not feel like a rental.
Use of 2 kayaks, a canoe + rowboat are included (along with life jackets and sand / water toys) and recommended! In the morning you can catch blooming lily pads and a real eagle's nest off to the right. The house is situated on a quiet corner of the lake which is perfect for the non-motorized watercraft and birdwatching. If you venture left on the water, there seems to be more action. The sandy area was great for the kids to play, the water shallow and warm, with lots of little fish to watch. Ending the night at the firepit with smores was a real treat!
You are also located just a short ride away from many great day trips - Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Haven, Glen Arbor, Frankfort, Traverse City...
Booking was simple, the communication was clear, and our (very few) questions on site were answered very quickly. Gary and Stacey are super hosts :)
