1. Hotel La Grisa

Bale

"Lovely small hotel in the small walled city of Bale. Very good breakfast buffet & excellent attached 5 star restaurant. Excellent service. For North American travellers, there is no elevator so you may want to transfer your travel items into a smaller carry-on. For the hotel, please add an in room kettle. As a traveller, sometimes you need to make yourself an herbal tea or an early morning coffee. Also, please have 100% overhead coverage of the areas connecting the buildings. It rained during...

"Very cute apartment over 3 floors with a small but fully stocked kitchen. Good air con on top 2 floors. Short steep walk (7 mins) to the top of motovun. You check in at a restaurant up the hill and one of the staff then takes you to the apartment. Free parking nearby. Only real negatives were the shower cubicle which was way too small and quite a few mozzies in the evening when drinking wine on the terrace…"

Maistra Select Belvedere Resort

8/10 Good

"No heating in the appartment at the end of October means 10degrees C at night outside… so it’s cold in the appartment as well."

Hotel Molindrio Plava Laguna

8/10 Good

"Great hotel and perfect location for our event Ironman 70.3 Poreč! Smaller room than expected (compared to photos) but soon got used to it and we used the balcony to store the bike. Comfortable bed, with adequate storage and spacious bathroom. Daily room service to replenish towels and hotel service for extra pillows and anything else you may need. We had breakfast and dinner included - both services had a wide variety of foods at the buffet that were all delicious. They even had an earlier breakfast service provided on race day which was greatly appreciated! The chefs were there to cook fresh food to keep everything replenished, and the staff were always there to help tidy away. Me and my husband enjoyed trying out the different foods each night, specially the deserts! One thing we made use of was the sauna and wellness area which you could use for 2 hours per day. We used the Sauna and steam room a lot, specially post race. Towels, water and tea were provided. My husband also used the Gym there on the first night which we were pleasantly surprised by, lots of free weights, machines and a squat rack. One highlight for me was being able to get my hair done by the hotel hair dresser, I wanted some french plaits done for the race and she managed to squeeze me in the day before. Very reasonably priced and friendly. Overall really happy with our stay, friendly staff and great experience. Such a lovely place to stay, we would come back!"

Maistra Camping Amarin Mobile homes

10/10 Excellent

"My family and I were traveling and stumbled upon this camping/trailer house. We booked 2 nights and my wife absolutely loved it. Plenty of space for two adults and two kids. Two bathrooms. A large covered deck. And all the amenities you could ask for. On the beach with several pools as an alternate. Great stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Laginji?

The best area to stay in Laginji is the village centre, particularly around the main square and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This area is the heart of Laginji, offering a concentrated selection of the region's best culinary experiences and local character. You'll find a few high-quality, family-run hotels and guesthouses here, often boasting excellent restaurants focusing on Istrian specialities. It's a compact and pleasant area for an evening stroll.

Couples looking for a refined culinary experience will find the village centre ideal. It allows for easy access to top-rated restaurants, often just a short walk from their accommodation, superb for enjoying a leisurely dinner with local wines. The intimate setting of the village also provides a relaxed backdrop for a romantic getaway.

For those seeking a tranquil retreat with convenient access to the countryside, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, perhaps in a villa or agriturismo, is a superb option.

When is the best time to go to Laginji?

The best time to visit Laginji is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for exploring, swimming, and outdoor activities without the intense heat or crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for a dip and the vineyards lush. This is a great time for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the atmosphere is more relaxed and intimate.

Families will also appreciate these times, as the attractions are less busy, and it's easier to find accommodation and restaurant reservations.
