"The hotel is really clean, and nice. The staff go to great lengths to keep the shared areas as clean as the rooms. Everybody goes out of their way to make us feel comfortable abd happy.
The breakfast buffet was the okay, but compared to the other food options around the hotel, it felt a little shy in comparison. However, within walking distance around the hotel there are plenty of options from local tavernas to touristy spots."

Only downsides are the entertainment, which didn't match the guests, and perhaps the price discrepancy that guest pays for room (2x difference regardless of the room)."

"It‘s a great hotel but it’s at the extension of the airport, so lots of planes overhead. The breakfast and dinner buffet was very good, with gluten-free options. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The only negativ point is the smoking. Nowadays there should be smoke free areas. It was very disgusting to be constantly enveloped in smoke at the pool. "

"Stayed for two nights. Room sizeable and clean, a few improvements needed in the bathroom but everything worked. Pool and bar area very nice and drinks reasonably priced, cheaper than in the bars in town. There was air conditioning in the room but I didn’t try to get it on because I didn’t need it, but a friend in another room tried and wast sure, maybe you need to pay for a remote control or something. Breakfast in the morning was included and while nothing spectacular did the job. Best thing about the place is its staff, who were all really friendly and helpful. Tourist tax is charged at 10 euros a night per room, which is the 4 star tax bracket, this isn’t a 4 star UK standard but a perfectly good 3 star with great staff . "
"Had a fantastic stay. Property is right on the beach close to all bars etc. asked for an iron and they brought me one. There is a €5 charge for the air conditioning per day but it is needed! Will definitely be back"
"I liked how friendly and accommodating the staff was. I liked how clean the rooms were kept. I liked how close it was to the beach. There were always chairs and floaties available which made the experience really good.
The staff does need to be educated on the availiof recycling containers on the property. We were told there weren't any and ended up going off-site to find recycling containers. We later found them by the pool. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay.

"Our stay at Hotel Sydney was lovely, family run hotel with that vibe, so if you're looking for something on the quieter side of Laganas, it is perfect. 3-5 min walk from the beach, hotels with open to everyone pools and bars and a little shop.
Breakfast is simple but nice with bread, ham cheese and jam with tea or coffee and juice with a peice of fruit. Only thing i could say would be that an option of fruit would be good as we got a pear each day, but no biggie. Room is nice, had a fridge and aircon at €5 per day. No wifi but wifi in the main area of the hotel if needed. Only thing i could say about the room would be that it would be useful to have an extra bin.
Staff were friendly and polite.

Little mention of the bar next door too while I'm writing a review, Route 66, Jimmy is a friendly guy running his bar on his own with his dog, pop in for a quiet drink with him or some food, he's very obliging to everyone. "
