Carroll's Cabin
The Space:
Your next adventure in the great outdoors awaits at this waterfront property on Flambeau Lake, part of the crystal clear, spring-fed Lac du Flambeau Chain of Lakes. Take in amazing views and watch for visiting wildlife off the expansive, furnished and recently renovated deck or from inside the screened gazebo, complete with an outdoor wood stove for chilly nights. And when you want to get in or on the water for swimming or fishing, this home is just 55 steps from the shore and your own private, recently remodeled dock. A convenient chair lift is also available for guests with limited mobility. Inside this spectacular, two-story log cabin, you'll find an open, well-equipped kitchen with brand new appliances (updated in 2024!) and counter seating as well as a dining area with a table for mealtimes or family game nights. The great room on this level also includes a spacious main living area with a vaulted ceiling, comfortable furnishings, a wood-burning fireplace, and a TV for streaming your favorite channels. Head downstairs to the rec room, offering additional living space with a fireplace and TV as well as a foosball table, dart board, and a desk and chair for your laptops if you need to attend to some remote work or schooling while you're away. In the evenings, gather around the firepit and roast s'mores while the stars come out and the loons call across the lake. THINGS TO KNOW Streaming TV services require guest accounts to access. A 4x4 is recommended to access this property in winter. Four kayaks and gear provided. Please note that the hot tub is not available to guests. This property is managed by Vacasa Wisconsin LLC.

We came for a family snowmobile week with our 3 children, spouses and 2 grandchildren. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. Unfortunately, there was no snow this year, but we still had a great time relaxing and going to towns in the area for plenty of actives.
The house was very large, and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy being together. the house is better than described. Would definitely rent again.

Best cabin we’ve ever stayed in
This cabin was excellent. The pictures do not do it justice! Upon entering you immediately know it’s top notch with decor, furnishings, and amenities. Even the amazing smell and cleanliness was above standard. I can be a tough critic as we travel for work and have stayed in MANY rentals. Most aren’t as nice as the pics. This one felt like home in all the best ways. Thank you VRBO, Vacasa and Carroll for a beautiful week in LDF and in your home.

4 bedroom Cabin in Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin.
Enjoyed staying at Caroll's Cabin in a peaceful Lac Du Flambeau neighborhood. The cabin was well equipped with furniture, beds, kitchen supplies. We enjoyed walking the dogs on the property and on To To Tom drive. Great view of the lake from the patio with steps to access to Flambeau Lake. Pier was not available as it was December, would be great for fishing and launching a boat, canoe or kayak in the summer. The Driveway is gravel and is up a steep hill, so access could be impassable after a snow storm.

Beautiful but needs attention
The location is beautiful. Our family enjoyed the lake front, the kayaks, the fire pit and the beautiful view. The fishing from the pier and a rented boat was great. The house and grounds could use some attention.
Some issues that need to be addressed:
- There are several TVs in the home but few could be used without knowing how to access .
- The dishwasher did not clean dishes. We hand washed dishes for 10 people 5 out of the 7 days. We do appreciate that we have been offered compensation for this (though not yet received).
- The refrigerator/freezer did not work properly, though it was replaced the day before we left and we did receive compensation for this.
- Wifi and internet access was inconsistent.
- The garbage can outside was ½ full when we arrived. Because there was no information about when to put the garbage can to the street, we missed garbage day and therefore, we filled it to the top to overflowing. Therefore, critters got into the garbage.
- The house and grounds overall could use some serious attention.
This home is “mostly” as advertised. The interior is very accurate. The home is comfortable and spacious. We did not utilize the basement at all but it is a great space if you have kids or a large group. The downstairs shower was out of order. I bring my own kitchen utensils (tongs, spatula’s, knives etc.-including two non stick frying pans), so we didn’t use much of the kitchen gear but it was well appointed. The fridge/freezer is very adequate with in door water/ice.
We had a terrific storm during our stay and the power went off-for about five seconds! The whole house generator kicked on and saved us from sitting in the dark.
The reason this review is not all 5 stars is because the outside deck needs some TLC. Portions of the deck-which has a great view-are rotting. Two “makeshift” repairs have been made on the deck which are elevated above the deck grade and frankly, they are unsafe. I hope they are meant as temporary fixes. In addition, the outside furniture around the dining table is pretty unusable. The mesh fabric of these chairs is deteriorating-two of the chairs are rotted/ripped through.
We rented a pontoon for five days and the electric lift down to/up from the water was extremely useful. I walked down/up twice-after that I took the tram!
We really like this house, in fact I would consider renting this again for 4 or 5 weeks straight. But, I do believe the owners need to pop by and check in on things a bit more.
We enjoyed our family trip in this cozy yet spacious cabin. There were many points of interest around the property (fire pit, dock, screened porch, hammock, deck). Inside the furnishings were excellent with a very large kitchen.
