Had a good stay here. It's a 25 min walk to the train station, but convenient buses run regularly until 9pm. Not convenient if you expect a cab later as cabs seem less available. But a pleasant walk. The front desk will sell you bus tickets. (1.5 Euro each). I might choose to be closer to the center of town, but an included breakfast buffet with basic but properly cooked food and AC makes it a good deal. A bit like an outdated dorm room on our first room impression, but slept well.

This is a nice property with very professional staff. There is not as much to do in the area as we were hoping. It is close to the waterfront but most of the area is taken up by commercial shipping. It’s close to ferry to cinque Terre but 20 min walk to the train station. The boats were not running the day we went to Cinque Terre so had to walk up to take a train. Which ended up being very nice traveling. We did do breakfast and it was nice but basic

The receptionist during check in was great. She explained in details how to get to railway station from the hotel to go to Cinque Terre. As we were short in time we were not able to visit all town of Cinque Terre she advised us best 2 out of 5.

Uncomfortable bed and pillows
While the hotel location was fine (near restaurants, shops, boats/port, 25 min walk to train), staff were friendly, and room was large, it was not a comfortable stay. There is no lift. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and pillows were flat and hard. There was a refrigerator, but no tea/coffee/kettle in the room. The shelf in the shower leaned and toiletries kept falling off and breaking. The shelf in the bathroom was very narrow and located over the toilet and bedet so toiletries easily knocked over onto the floor and into the bedet or toilet. The towel bar hung over the toilet so you were fighting with your wet towels when trying to use the toilet. As in most Southern European hotels, no hair conditioner was provided. There are some parking spaces available in a garage next door, for €18 per day. There is a large grocery store located within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

this was a very nice hotel with lovely staff and beautifully presented. there were stairs to our room which the receptionist was more than happy to help us with our bags. the breakfast was also very nice in a lovely breakfast room. location was ok to get to the boats to Cinque Terre.

Nice hotel by the pier
I stayed with hotel corallo because la spezia was central to Cinque Terre, Portovenere and Pisa ... I was a little surprised that tea and coffee were not available for free. My last bed and breakfast kept coffee and tea bags out all the time. That being said, I really enjoyed having a spacious bathroom and bed with a desk. It was all small but all I needed. And the temperature was quickly fixed by the air conditioning. Since access to power is your hotel keycard, it was hot upon returning home after being off during the day, but it wasnt bad at all. The bed s Herts were so soft, by the way. The continental breakfast was more than I expected! Did not expect eggs and sausage/bacon but the fruit was excellent and the variety of pastries and spreads was also good. The chocolate and vanilla cookies were a favourite! The one thing I wasn't a fan on was the wifi.. it was a hotspot so you had to keep logging in everytime you came back, as opposed to connecting to a router, where the password is remembered on the device. The connection was also very spotty and poor at times. BUT.. I did enjoy my stay very much!

We stayed at Hotel Corallo en route to the Cinque Terre. It's close to the bus route, which will transport you to the train station for Cinque. They have their own parking garage, but it's not free, that is if you're driving. You'll want to pay the price to park there, however, because trust me parking in La Spezia is not in abundance. I think it was about $25 per day. We left our car there the next day and paid about $5 extra for being an hour or so late. There is not a free breakfast included in the price of the stay, but for $5 per person it was worth it. Typical Euro breakfast: Croissants, cereal, salami, cheese, yogurt, coffee, milk, etc. I have a few complaints: The bed/pillow were pretty uncomfortable - hard as a rock. Also there was someone staying in a room above us, and this person spoke very loudly for hours. At a tune of approximately 2:30am. So, needless to say I had very little sleep that night when I had to get up at 6:00am. Noisy guests are not the fault of the hotel though. Oh, I almost forgot...another strange thing: The main light to the room would not stay on unless you inserted your room card into a slot, and then the light was on a timer. I've never seen that before anywhere and I've been all over Europe. That was a bit irritating. Would I have wanted to stay an additional night, no. I wish I would have coughed up the extra cash and just found a hotel in the Cinque.

We are sorry you couldn't sleep because of the noisy of other guests, you could call the reception and maybe we could ask people to be more silent...in any case we will try to pay more attention to the noise during the night. As far as the light is concerning, you had to leave the card inside the slot to have the power, in this way you could turn on and off all the lights whenever you wanted. We wish you all the best. Away from main town
A little out of main town but quiet at night, even though close to cruise ship terminal and docks. Nice walk along waterfront, with lots of boats and pretty gardens. Plenty of shops for those interested in shopping. Fantastic market which made us wish we had a kitchen. Enjoyed some nice restaurants. Be prepared to walk and climb steps. Took boat ride to Cinque Terre which was very pretty but mobbed with tourists!!!

Ideal hotel for day trips to Cinque Terre
Our experience at the hotel was good. The hotel was ~1.5km from La Spezia station. I would recommend using the bus to travel between the hotel and train station, especially after a day trip to Cinque Terre.

Great place to stay for day trips to Cinque Terre. Nice hotel, with outdoor breakfast on the terrace. Only negative was that free wifi was limited, slow, and often cut out.

The Junior Suite is very nice
The junior suite was quite surprising. The deck is awesome. Near the train station. A nice clean, quiet room. Highly recommended. Nice staff too.

Cinque Terre
My friend and I stayed 4 days in this hotel. It is in a good location. Near the port and close to the center of town where the restaurants and stores are. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and very friendly. Breakfast is included in the room price and was good. The room was small but clean. The rooms are on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. This could be an issue for some guests.

Large sized rooms short walk to downtown La Spezia
We stayed at Hotel Corallo for 2 nights. The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was very large compared to other hotels we have stayed at which was good. Only a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal to Cinque Terre and to the main part of La Spezia where there were heaps of restaurants and shops. Comfortable beds, good air conditioning. However as we were at the back of the hotel, low wifi connection.

I would not recommend this hotel. The room had an awful smell. We were supposed to stay two nights but only stayed one night. The floors in the hallways were filthy. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

Well located hotel, with compact triple rooms.
Well located hotel with bus stop a few mins walk away. Walking distance to most sights in La Spezia. Very helpful receptionists who provided details of train times. Rooms for 2 people seemed of good size but the triple room we were in was very compact and with 3 small suitcases in the room, you felt cramped. There isn't really a place to lounge around in the foyer, which is a shame as it would have been a nice option for those with small rooms. Although there is a bar area with kitchen table and chairs. There is also a sofa on the 1st floor but it is directly outside some bedrooms, so you don't feel you can chat there. Given there are not many hotels in La spezia, I can see why this hotel has a fair number of guests as it is a relatively low price for the area.

More than a 3* Star Hotel
Everything about the Hotel Corallo is more than a 3*. Reception staff friendly & very helpful. Very clean & comfortable rooms. Breakfast very continental but very adequate & good choice, even gluten free catered for. Big plus - options for parking at different costs. Secure garage most expensive, a few on the road parking spaces, cheaper or find your own parking meter or free parking options. The Spezia is a working Port so one part is very industrial but the other part (Marina) is very pretty & so are the old streets of the town. Many nice restaurants within walking distance. Also able to purchase bus tickets at reception in Hotel. Take bus to train station & have a wonderful day on the train to the Cinque Terrestrial villages - A Must. Hotel Corallo will not disappoint you.
