"Beautiful Property, Not a True Luxury Experience At $1,500+ per night, the expectation is a seamless luxury experience. Casa de Campo is visually beautiful, but service and value did not match the price. Check-in required a 25+ minute wait for a “concierge check-in”, while 2 front desk agents remained unoccupied, yet there was no meaningful property overview or proactive assistance. The room was standard at best and consistently humid. We had booked expecting a hot tub, but only select rooms in another section section of the resort have them. Even after a partial adjustment through Expedia, the value was not there. The main pool shows visible wear, and overall upkeep does not reflect a luxury rate. Concierge service lacked initiative. When restaurants were full, we had to prompt alternatives. There was also confusion about what our stay included, despite the high rate, it covered no meals or experiences, only the room and a golf cart. Dining was good overall. Breakfast at Lago stood out thanks to Jael, who delivered the only truly five-star service we experienced. The property and golf course are beautiful, but service precision, clarity, and overall value fall short of true luxury standards. "

"The hosts were wonderful. The house is perfect and so comfortable and immaculate. We loved the location - both being on the river and near to the Marina. Junior the butler, Charlie the chef, and the rest of the staff were warm, kind and excellent. We definitely plan on returning and next time we will eat even more of our meals at the house. This was the best vrbo we have ever found anywhere. "

"The property advertised as the “Elegant Villa” is grossly misrepresented and in unacceptable condition. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the home is severely worn, outdated, and neglected. The listing photos and description do not accurately reflect the current state of the property. The bathrooms were not simply unclean — they were disgusting. Every bathroom was in a condition that should never be presented to paying guests. The showers were visibly unsanitary and unfit for use. Only one shower was even remotely usable, and that one is partially broken. The remaining bathrooms were not in a condition any reasonable guest would feel comfortable using. Our three-year-old child discovered women’s underwear left behind in the property, demonstrating a complete lack of proper inspection prior to our arrival. Beyond cleanliness, the villa reflects long-term neglect. Furnishings are heavily worn, stained, and dated. Fixtures and finishes show visible deterioration. No amount of cleaning would resolve these issues — the property requires substantial repair and updating. The pool and hot tub are also in disrepair and not properly maintained. These amenities were a material factor in booking this property. We documented all issues immediately upon arrival and expect prompt resolution."

The villa was stunning - and even nicer than the pictures - and the staff was incredible from arrival to departure. The host’s coordination was top-notch and highly professional.
