The Butterfly House is a charming, beautiful cabin located in a secluded area surrounded by green forest. Only a short walk to streams and creeks. The cabin is 10 minutes' drive from downtown La Fortuna, where you will find plenty of restaurants and nightlife. This house is a perfect place to rest and relax in between the fun variety of tourist activities (rafting, hiking, horseback riding, hot springs and much more) available in La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano.

Perfect Family Getaway

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay! The cabin had everything we needed; it was close to activities and dining. We had a little trouble finding the location because we did not have the Waze App and the Pin from the VRBO website brought us somewhere else.

Property was calm, quiet and peaceful. It had ac which made it comfortable to be during warm humid climate. The property was only minutes away from center of La fortuna where shops and restaurants were located. We had minor inconvenience with the bathroom, but host was quick to address. We had a great time at the location!

Great quiet place. I am so happy we booked. Its clean, relaxing, with fully equipped kitchen. The host was very polite and provided us with the necessary recommendations that helped us navigate the area much better.

Great stay away from the busy streets in La Fortuna

We loved everything about our stay here. Check in was easy. The house was clean on arrival. Was stocked with everything we may need. Everything worked well including washer and dryer. The best part was the back patio and the view (when the clouds break) along with the sounds of nature. Loved the location. Definitely need a car if staying here but a short 5-10 minute drive and you are in the heart of La Fortuna. I would definitely stay here again!

LaFortuna Cabin

It was a great place to experience LaFortuna. It was close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shops downtown without having to deal with traffic and noise. There were plenty of nearby soda's that were also delicious. It was only a short drive to the Waterfall and the hot springs.

Amazing quiet place

The cabin was beautiful! The owner and team were so helpful and responsive and even let us use their laundry facilities. The air conditioning was nice and cool and the whole house was very comfortable. Would recommend!

Charming and comfortable stay

This little house was all we were expecting. The home was clean and well stocked. The management was very quick with communication. The neighborhood was quiet. The back yard offers a nice view of Arenal volcano.

Perfect place to stay in La Fortuna!

This place was so amazing. It had all of the comforts of home, was nice and quite in a great neighborhood. It was close enough to participate in all of the tourist attractions and far enough away to give us the experience of living in the area. It was a great addition to our "Moving to costa Rica Exploration ".

great spot if you have a car

We enjoyed our stay, the house was clean and had everything that we needed. It was not a location that you could walk to many places from so we would highly recommend that you have a car if you are going to rent this house.

Volcano view with birds

The cabin was so cozy. It is a easy drive to get to town for groceries or a meal out but also far enough out to be immersed in nature. We had everything we needed and more. I definitely hope to stay here again the next time I am in the area. Pura Vida!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was a great place to relax, sitting on the porch reading or listening and seeing so many different kinds of birds. After touring during the day it was great to get away from the busyness of the town. The kitchen was well equipped to do some cooking as well.

One of a kind

Just lovely. Host was helpful - providing lots of ideas for things to do, places to eat. House was a perfect size and in the perfect location. We made breakfast a few mornings - the kitchen was all stocked and easy to use. Everything is so close and easy to access from this home. La Fortuna is magical - we will be back.

Wonderful accommodations

This place was great. The AC worked well, and it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and we all got a good night's sleep.The only complaint I heard is there isn't enough seating in the living area for watching movies. The backyard was big and lots of birds spent time there. We did not see any other animals, but we were only there 3 nights.I would stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

Great experience!

The property was very clean! Anything questions we had were answered very quickly through WhatsApp. It was nice to know the owners are very attentive to your needs! It has everything we needed! It is about 10 minutes from town, but once you get used to the drive it gets easier. The road felt safe and no animals or critters came into the house (we were worried that might happen). Highly recommend this cute little place!

Short but sweet

My family and I stayed in the beautiful butterfly home for 2 nights. It was perfect for what needed. It’s very cute and clean. The only downside was that it poured nearly our whole stay, but that was no fault of the owners, we were in a rainforest after all!

We had a great stay—property was exactly as shown. An easy 10-15 min drive into town but felt much farther than that in a good way. Just so lovely

Everything is well thought out and new! The bedding was good quality, the beds were comfortable and firm, the kitchen was perfectly appointed. We cooked simple meals with ease. The location is gorgeous in a sweet country neighborhood with kind neighbors and friendly dogs. The proximity to La Fortuna was perfect - close enough for convenience and far enough away to be quiet and peaceful with a great view of the volcano. It was a fantastic value! Highly recommend.

Highlight of our stay

While all the canyoning, zip lining and hikes were amazing, nothing came close to our time at butterfly house. Without exaggeration we saw more than 30 species of birds in the backyard. Woke each morning to views of the volcano and birds singing. Cooked the freshest ingredients in the kitchen and really enjoyed the authentic neighborhood feel and friendly locals. We without hesitation would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice private house just minutes from town. Mathew & Aimee
