A beautiful oasis, just a few mins from the town center. Leo was a true gem- his hospitality, passion for the business, and deep respect for family, made our stay exceptional. This is a family business and they take great pride in their guest experience. The frog tour and garden were awesome and the rooms were meticulously clean. Truly a treasure.
First hotel of our trip and the very first morning blew our minds. We woke the sound of birds and saw Leo put bananas out and attract a dazzling array of birds. We looked up at the trees and saw howler monkeys and Toucans. We walked into their garden and down to the stream and saw an abundance of poison dart frogs and were mesmerized by the stream at the edge of the garden. All this was before finishing the first cup of coffee, still in our pajamas. Leo and the hotel staff made our stay an absolute delight. Leo will also give you a personal night tour in the garden. This is on par with the many paid night tours we were to take later on in our trip. Look at the reviews by other guests as well and it might sound incredible to you. But it is all 100% true. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean and come with a well stocked kitchen. The olive oil and coffee provided is delicious. In the photos, this might look like a travelodge or highway motel at first glance. Don't be fooled. This is truly a gem of a place. Supermarkets Rosvil and Cristian are nearby as you head into La Fortuna. Both are excellent.

We had a wonderful experience here! Family trip. They have a pool now they're developing. Staff very friendly and helpful! Our girls loved Leo's frog night tour! 3 King beds was so nice. Great kitchenette. Overall great experience!

Expedia did a horrible job. However not the location I wanted, Expedia showed zero concern. As far as the management at this place absolutely above and beyond, great unit, cozy plenty of room and opened my eyes to how much management cared. Excellent stay!!

What a gem. The room is stocked and comfortable. The frog safari is in the garden area. Lots and lots for frogs day and night. Red eyed frog and the bluejeaned frogs and more. Fruit in the garden attracts a lot of wonderful birds. The staff is so great. Fresh fruit is waiting for you in your room. About 2 km from downtown La Fortuna.

This little cabana was perfect for our family. It was spacious, it had a full kitchen, and each unit has its own covered parking at your door. The staff is a family running this business, and they go out of their way to help you. Some of our family went on the night frog tour. There is a nice garden area and river view at the end of the trail. The location is easy to find, just outside of the busy town area. We had no trouble driving to local areas, and the La Fortuna waterfall park was down a nearby street. It is not a fancy place, but for the price….it was a wonderful find! We would stay again (three king beds room was perfect for our family…only one door closes for one private bedroom). What a special area!

Loved it!
Immaculate and in a great location. We loved the frog tour and the wonderful people working there. Leo let our son harvest a pineapple that was growing and let us keep it to eat. He made my son’s day. The staff is very knowledgeable about the frogs and great at finding them. The garden and riverbank Is gorgeous. The staff is always available and friendly. Loved coming out onto our patio to find a bowl of fresh fruit on the table. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfection in La Fortuna
Excellent stay. Would definitely stay here again. The value is unbelievable Ofor everything you get! Leo was a gracious host, getting us checked in and giving free frog tours to guests on the property. We really appreciated his knowledge and caring for the animals that inhabit the beautiful garden in the property. Parking was perfect. So much room for our family of 6. Every appliance you could need including a full gas stove and oven. The hot water was really hot and relaxing after a long day of adventuring. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Clean economical
Though clean, this is a very no frills and old style furnishings. The gardens are gorgeous. It is not close to walk to town, but a short drive. Great for economical travel.

Thank you for your time writing this review. We give our best in order to satisfy the needs from our clients, although we never advertise our place as a fancy one. We understand that 90 or more percent of people visiting La Fortuna are here to explore the rainforest (maybe not you, of course) and don’t need a huge tv or very fashioned furnitures, but good beds, and kitchen, besides A/C and WiFi. All of that you get it in our place. We don’t want our guests to spend more money for things that they probably will never use. That’s why our apartments are nice, clean, and cozy, having everything to cover people’s needs without paying thousands of dollars for fancy stuff. Thanks again for staying with us!

Roomy and clean but not much ambience
Extremely friendly concierge named Alejandro. We needed to check out an hour later than scheduled and were accommodated. Two minute drive to the town of La Fortuna. FYI - drive, don't walk. Walking is dangerous! Road is winding and there is no shoulder. VERY CLOSE to the famous La Fortuna waterfall. Bear in mind this is not a hotel, it is a vacation rental, and there is no coffee provided and no maid service unless you pay extra. However, there was fresh fruit in the fridge!!!!! Very roomy, but only one bed has privacy.The other beds are out in the open in the living area. Clean. A/C worked great. Wonderful, thick bath towels. Lots of kitchen appliances. Furniture is limited but adequate. Lighting is overhead bare bulbs, no lamps. Quite a bit of noise at all hours as guests come and go - cars are parked in the carports attached to each unit. No view, but pretty ferns and flowers at each door. There is a lovely garden in the back with steps down to the river. Overall, a good location (if you have a car) and a nice, comfortable break from cramped hotel rooms.

Nice place to stay in la fortuna
Very clean and nice, bathroom was tight for family of five, stairs no was size of a soup bowl, little bigger! Noise from neighbors was heard through joint walls. I still liked the full clean and new kitchen, very polished clean tiles. Nature walk was a bonus. They should increase quota of toilet paper. The guys at reception desk were very nice

Beautiful and quiet cabin just outside town
We had a great time in La Fortuna. This hotel is super close to all the restaurants andtours, and only a couple of miles from the hot springs. You can see the beautiful volcano from the entrance to the hotel, as well. The hotel also has a private garden that is absolutely gorgeous and leads down to the little river. And the room - the room had three king beds, a full kitchen, and nice living room, everything you could want. The cherry on top was the fresh papaya, watermelon, and pineapple that the hotel left in the fridge for when we arrived.

The beds are very nice! The complimentary nature area allowed us to see many amphibians and birds. The staff was very friendly and willing to share their recommendations with us. We reserved one night, but stayed three! We will be back.

Excellents rooms just brand new, very clean. Very easy to get there just in the main road. It’s has his own path walking to the river very beatiful. The personnel are excellent and very helpful. So glad we stay here.

el lugar super limpio, desde el hotel se ve el volcan arenal. estan haciendo reparaciones, incluso una piscina que expidia no tiene las fotos todavia no aparecen pero esta quedando muy bonita. tienen un pequeno cendero que hacen caminatas nortucnas. el personal de hotel super atentos y amables se los recomiendo.

Tres comfortable!
Très bien reçu, endroit très propre. Le gérant offre un tour guidé en soirée de la forêt privée. Très intéressant. Nous étions deux adultes et trois enfants. Très confortable. Près de la ville. Nous recommandons fortement cet endroit.
