A little bit of Paradise
We wished we had stayed longer. This is a wonderful property, well maintained and the owners are close by. The back yard is beautifully landscaped and offers a full view of the volcano covered deck area and a small pool to cool off in. Beds are comfortable and the house offers everything you could need. La Fortuna is a hidden gem. I have been to CR over 40 times and never made it here. Great restaurants and activities and a wonderful place to relax when the day is over. Highly recomended.

Spacious, very attractive, well equipped
And it was wonderful watching the birds which came to eat the fruit the host provided! The location is very close to downtown, grocery store, and restaurants. There’s a lot of natural wood in the interior, which was lovely. The interior was also bright with color - very warm and welcoming.

Rain Forest Paradise
This is one of our favorite stays. The house had everything we needed with comfortable beds, equipped kitchen and lots of room. The best feature is a fantastic back deck and grounds. The plants and wildlife are amazing. Very well kept. Birds of all types, and the last day some Howler Monkeys showed up nearby. They are a bit noisy, but you are in the rain forest. Friendly hosts live next door. I would suggest getting here in the daylight, as it is a little tricky to get the layout on a rainy night.

Paradise Found
The Howler monkeys called from the front yard every morning. The Great Guans entertained in the back yard along with their exotic companion birds. If you can tear yourself away from the house and property, it is close to town for restaurants. But the kitchen is so well equipped, you could shop for groceries at the nearby grocery and never need to leave the house. When I search for a place to stay, I'm looking for security, cleanliness, 'live-ability', location and comfort. This house hit the jackpot for me. Many thanks to the host for sharing and making a dream trip even better.

Close to everything yet a secluded paradise.
Our family of five (kids ages 7-10) had a wonderful stay! The property is a little slice of paradise, private but just a few minutes from restaurants, La Fortuna Waterfall, chocolate tours, and the rope swing, among other attractions. We saw more wildlife on this property than we did on the tours we paid for - howler monkeys, toucans, lizards, many different birds. Our kids loved the pool and all of the pool toys available. The house has lots of space and conveniences like laundry and a dishwasher. We would definitely return and wished we could have stayed longer.

Hidden Tropical Paradise
This is truly a tropical paradise with warm and welcoming hosts. My husband is a birder and he collected many for his list just from the bedroom deck. The rooms are nicely arranged for a family and the pool is great for a soak after a hot day exploring. We barbecued in the outdoor area which has party lights and speakers as well as a grill. Wonderful stay. We hope to return soon.

Volcano Fun
A lot of construction going on. Despite that the house and property were as described. The yard is just beautiful, and the bird watching was incredible! We saw parrots and toucans! Location to all sites was perfect. If you find yourself in La Fortuna, you must eat at Travesia!!! The food was delicious. 10/10 stay here!

Review of Tropical Paradise
Marco has created a secluded paradise for his guests in a perfect location to explore La Fortuna. The property is beautiful and the home is comfortable and cozy. The host and property appointments were exceptional. We have everything we need plus for a fantastic stay. The home is well situated to access downtown La Fortuna and various adventure tours. We were thrilled with everything about our stay and when we return, this VRBO will be our first stop.

Great spot!
This property was in an amazing location! It was just as described online! We loved watching the birds every morning when Marco put out the fruit. My boys favorite thing of the entire trip was the free rope swing just a minute away! Great & private property!

This home was a perfect location as a base for our La Fortuna exploring. AC worked well and all of the appliances. The patio was nice in the morning for breakfast or the evening playing games. We enjoyed grilling and eating outdoors every night. Thanks for a memorable stay!

La Fortuna Family Vacay
We had an absolutely wonderful time here! The property is pristine and the location is beautiful! Marco feeds the birds every morning with fresh fruit right in the backyard and we got to see some beautiful birds every morning. My favorite was seeing the pineapples grow in the backyard! Location of this property was also perfect, just a short drive to the center of La Fortuna and great for any excursions. Marco was an excellent host, as well as his daughter, and ensured that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Couldn't recommend this location more! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is the perfect property! The location is amazing. Close to activities and restaurants but also far enough away that it’s quiet. The property is large and feels like you’re directly in the jungle. We travelled with kids aged 7,9,11,14,17. We rented our own vehicle from Liberia, the drive was easy and also beautiful. Marco and Leticia were very welcoming and answered any questions we had. We would definitely come back and highly recommend to others!!

Great spot in La Fortuna
Clean and nice home with a lot of room. The pool is a plunge pull and our kids just loved splashing. The deck is great place to sit and relax as you listen to the birds and monkeys. Beautiful gounds! A/C works well. Only need to be used in the bedrooms at night during the summer months. You can walk to the rope swing and a few spots to eat. Also could walk to town and finds stores and restaurants. We love this area and would defintely rent with Marco again. So many activities in this region loved Sky adventure ziplines, hot springs, rope swing, arenal whitewater rafting (saw several sloths and get lunch), hiking, la fortuna waterfall, the hanging bridges...etc.

Incredible property!
We loved our stay here! The hosts were very easy to work with. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor spaces were incredible!!!! We loved having breakfast on the porch and listening to the birds. It's a 15-20 minute walk into La Fortuna. We would definitely stay here again.

A Hidden Slice of Jungle Paradise
Spectacular and abundace views of birds and howler monkeys. We did frog hunting at night. Easy to get to LaFortuna, restaurants and local attractions. Marco and Letitia were very good hosts and hostesses. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Very accommodating. 7 in our party and there was plenty of room. Close to town. Only draw-back (out of their control) was difficult to talk to town because of the poor walking conditions.

La Fortuna paradise
We LOVED our stay in La Fortuna! The property was quiet, private, and comfortable, yet close to town. Each morning we enjoyed watching all the birds eat fresh fruit that Marco put out for them. We were able to see monkeys in the trees by the house, large iguanas, and toucans. What an experience! The house was walking distance to town and the rope swing nearby was awesome! Hanging bridges and Arenal 1968 trail hikes were super fun!

We had an amazing stay at the property we were only there 2 nights but we made the most of it, close to town and other attractions. Only about 5 minute drive to waterfall, we got lucky and saw a sloth on way back from waterfall. Did a night hike a few kms away our first night we learned a lot about locating animals and the next night we took the flashlight outside in the backyard of property and walked around and found several frogs on the leaves of the trees in backyard. Monkeys play in the trees in front of house in the evenings. Lots of birds of a morning as Marco (owner) places fruit out for them in back yard. Very clean and spacious property owner is very responsive. Used Waze app to get there and it took us right to property other than when you turn off the highway onto their road it will tell you that you have arrived, property is at the very end of the road about 200 meters just keep going and you will find it. Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect stay
This place is a little piece of paradise. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. I worked mostly with Leticia as her English is better than Marco (her father). She is very kind. We were having trouble getting an excursion booked for the day of our arrival and Leticia was able to take care of it for us, even arranging pickup at the house. She also was so sweet to allow us to checkin early so we didn’t have to deal with our luggage. She also brought by some local coffee for us. Can’t say enough about how much we appreciated everything she did for us. Their dog Emma is a big goofy thing that stole our hearts and made me miss my own dog. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful intro to Costa Rica
This is the first place we stayed on a 11 night journey through Costa Rica. We stayed at the property for 3 nights and it was an absolutely perfect property for us. We were a group of 11 people, 4 adults and 7 children ranging from age 3 to 15. Our children LOVED the pool and joyfully played in it each night while it rained (after we’d explored the Fortuna area all day). The property was truly beautiful, with so many flowers, trees and wildlife. From the lovely outdoor space we saw SO MANY birds (thanks to Marco putting out fresh fruit for them each morning). The favorite bird siting was on our first morning when we watched 2 toucans hang around the property all morning. We also heard and saw SO many howler monkeys, lizards and frogs from the verandah. Leticia and Marco were kind and gracious hosts who checked in on us frequently. They provided us fresh bananas one morning and our children ate them up so quickly… then they declared them the best bananas ever. As we were leaving, we asked if they had one more for our 3 year old and they provided another entire bag of fresh bananas to go. They were divided up eaten by our families within minutes of leaving. We loved that the house was a little removed from the bustle of the Main Street, yet close enough to walk downtown. There was a delicious restaurant around that corner (Tiquicia) where we had casadas and fresh juice. On our last morning, we ventured down the street a 5 minute walk to El Salto rope swing for a fun free thrill. I would 100% recommend staying at this lovely home and I will hopefully return with my family again in the future. Thank you Marco and Leticia. ❤️

Jungle Paradise
We had an amazing time here! The property is spacious and attracts a lot of wildlife, including monkeys, a toad, leaf cutter ants and lizards. Marco keeps a bird feeder that had many different exotic birds flying in and out all day. Perfect for photos. Very close to town. It was so relaxing and comfortable. Marco and his daughter, Leticia, were wonderful hosts. Pura vida!

Truly a Hidden Tropical Paradise!
Marco, Marlene & Leticia were amazing hosts! They are super hosts and are very responsive and communicate well and promptly. They offered great advice and recommendations on things to do in the area and restaurants to try out. The four of us stayed for 4 weeks in this lovely vacation home. The house is beautiful and has everything you will need to feel at home, including every kitchen utensil and appliance you could need inclusive of a coffee bean grinder. We used the dipping pool to cool off and used the BBQ area to grill and eat a few times. The deck allowed us to eat outside and have our morning coffee while watching the birds that Marco feeds each morning. The property is on a couple of acres and allows for privacy and a comfortable feeling of solitude and peace. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and is even within walking distance to buy groceries and explore the area. We asked for some yoga mats and they were provided. I asked for some surprise arrival flowers to be purchased and the hosts willingly did this for me. Marco, Marlene and Leticia do their very best to please. If you have the opportunity to stay here, take the time to look at the art work displayed on the wall. Many of the beautiful paintings are painted by Marlene, who is an awesome artist. We had a great time and we loved our time here and would definitely come back! Could not have asked for more, thank you so very much Marco, Marlene & Leticia.

Off the beaten path
Very nice home near La Fortuna tucked away just outside of town providing lots of privacy. Home had everything we needed. Owners (Marco and Leticia) were extremely helpful including arranging shuttle from the San Jose airport. Nearby restaurants were excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful escape in La Fortuna
Marco & family have a beautiful property just minutes away from downtown La Fortuna, and a short walk to a waterfall alongside the road that you can jump into. The property itself is beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures. You can luxuriate in a newly built pool while wildlife skitters around. In the mornings, Marco puts out melon behind the house so that you can see some of the larger birds and wildlife feast (really cool!). They are excellent hosts and very responsive. We couldn't have been happier.

We really enjoyed our stay at Marco’s house. Marco and Leticia were very polite and welcoming. The house is located just over a km outside of town and has a well taken care of yard and sitting area. It was a treat to watch Marco feed the birds (including toucans) fresh fruit each morning. It was easy to catch a taxi into town to local restaurants and bars for about $2. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful home on a gorgeous property
This is an actual home and not the typical vacation rental and it sits on a most beautiful property . It is safe and secure and is fully equipped with everything one might need. Marco, Marlene and Leticia are wonderful hosts, respectful of our privacy but always available for advice and assistance. This home is our only choice when we come to LaFortuna.

We chose this property because it fit my basic requirements for a multi-generation vacation house, but what we got was so much more. Yes, there is great WiFi to support the kids' multitude of apps; air conditioning for those polar bear types; cool pool for the sea otter types. All those things are well described in the listing. What isn't immediately obvious is how well the kitchen is stocked. We like to cook and this kitchen had a great supply of cooking vessels, serving dishes, good knives and implements, even a serious coffee bean grinder. It's unusual to find a vacation house with this kind of kitchen. Plenty of space to relax indoors and out. Comfortable beds and nice linens. Communication was easy - the owner is your just out of sight neighbor. We had a minor medical emergency and received their help immediately. Their proximity also makes the property feel quite secure. Paradise Found? Every morning started with sipping that freshly ground coffee while watching the display of birds fluttering around the offering of fruit Marco sets out. You can't imagine the variety of birds in your very own back yard! It IS a tropical paradise and I'm very glad we found it.

Truly a Hidden Paradise
We were shocked and amazed at the beauty and peacefulness of this property. The house was immaculate, incredibly appointed, and much more spacious than expected from pictures. Marco and his daughter were amazing hosts - friendly, communicative and efficient at all times. The beds were comfortable, the house impeccably clean, and the grounds spectacular. We even saw howler monkeys on our last day. El Salto rope swing was within walking distance and became a daily adventure for our boys. We cannot say enough about this property. Quiet, safe, and a hidden gem!

Spacious house in a lush green garden
My family had a lovely stay in this lovely La Fortuna home! The kitchen was well stocked with necessities plus delicious coffee and helpful sugar and spices. The beds were very comfortable, and the room arrangements allowed plenty of space for everyone. Best of all was the amazing garden with the most beautiful trees, plus pineapple bushes and a rope swing and an outdoor barbecue area. It was a convenient walk to delicious food at Tiquicia, or a quick drive to town for activities and supplies. The only downside would be the mosquitos, which are everywhere in Costa Rica but seem to particularly enjoy this lovely yard—when we used bug spray we were fine, but we learned to not go outside without it. Definitely worth it to enjoy this amazing garden with its many visiting birds and gorgeous flowers and trees!

Peaceful Paradise
The name says it all. This property truly is a hidden tropical paradise. Macro and his family were a delight and we enjoyed our association with them very much. The property was incredible. It was extremely clean and had all we needed and wanted. We were able to be out in nature in the yard with all kinds of wildlife. Tropical bird, plants and trees were abundant. The morning cries of the howler monkeys were something we looked forward to every day. Our time in La Fortuna at the hidden tropical paradise will be something we will never forget. We loved our stay at this property, The yard was beautiful with tropical plants, trees and flowers. We enjoyed watching the birds. The house was very clean and comfortable and the BBQ area was really great for making our dinner at night. It was a short, safe and convenient walk to town. It was nice to have the pool to cool down in when we got back from excursions, etc. Marco and Leticia were AWESOME hosts! We will definetely stay in this home again next time we visit LaFortuna!

Amazing house in paradise
We were so happy with this place. Marco and Leticia were both ao friendly and welcoming. Every morning Marco put iut papaya for the birds and we got to enjoy watching while we had breakfast on the patio. The property is gorgeous and the house was even better than in the pictures. We'd highly recommend staying here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Truly a hidden paradise
We had lots of rain but that didn’t keep us from enjoying ourselves here. Marco and family are fabulous hosts. We arrived late and there was dinner waiting for us after a long day of travel. In the morning Marco put out fresh fruit for the birds so we could enjoy watching them while we drank our coffee on the porch. This house is just as pictured. We would come back again in a heartbeat. Pura vida!

Paradise in La Fortuna
This was our second time staying at this property and once again we had an amazing stay. Marco is a wonderful host. The house is clean and comfortable and well-equipped. The house is very close to town yet feels like miles away from everything. The best part is sitting on the porch and watching the wide variety of birds that come and feed on the fruit that Marco puts out every morning. Such a special and relaxing place!
