Beautiful home and views.
Hot tub was not clean so we did not use and this was a main reason for booking.
Property was wonderful, I would book it again.
This property is in a beautiful quiet forest a setting out of a fairy tell. The kitchen is newly remodelled, the hot water is instant with great water pressure in the shower, windows are new keeping sound out and heat in, large comfy couch’s and large flat screen tv in the living room. Bay windows give you a view of the river while in bed and in the living room. The high light of the property is the chairs and fire pit on the river shore where you can wind down and enjoy the red woods and a real river view! Not to mention bald eagle sightings.
We loved our family stay. The layout of the house was nice and the walk down to the river was beautiful and a little steep.
The kitchen had everything we needed with a nice dining table for the family. The living room was a good size and fit us all. Lots of windows and fresh air.
Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was dirty and couldn’t be used. Also, the gas grill was dirty and had leftover food in it.
Great place only a short bit out of the way, just enough to be away from the hustle but close enough to make a quick trip to various Tahoe locations or go explore clear mountain lakes.
No A/C but that is typical for the area. Was nice and cool at night with windows open and the sound of the mountain stream running at the base of the property.

We had a great stay. The cabin was clean and had a beautiful view of the river in the main bedroom. Lots of room with 2 levels. Communication was good and had everything we needed.
House is older but has been updated where it matters. Quiet and peaceful except for the nightly game of Uno on the deck. Then much laughter could be heard.
The heater did not work so house was freezing. Fireplace did not appear to be working, and wood was wet and did not burn. Bed was not comfortable. Hot tub was gross and did not work. Sauna did not get hot. The pictures looked better than the actual experience.

Tahoe Trip
The cabin was not as pictures described. It definitely was not as tidy/clean as I would have liked it to be for what we paid to stay for one night. 600.00 for one night I expected nicer and for the hot tub to work. Hot tub was cold and nasty.
Awesome place, the host was even better. Nice, communicative, and understanding. House was clean, the pictures online matched the house 100% and everyone who went enjoyed the time spent. If your looking for a good nice getaway then i recommend this place for sure or at least another place with the same host
Great place. Everyone enjoyed! Minor complaint: Had to buy paper towels,Toilet paper, Trash bags. As I said, minor. Like to come back in 2025. Thanks Matt.

We were looking for a quiet get-away in a cabin in the woods on a river. It was a very comfortable cabin, but it was much closer to the highway than we had realized, in spite of researching the reviews and looking at maps. We could see the traffic from the house, and the road noise from Hwy. 50 was constant and loud, unfortunately drowned out the lovely sound of the river below us.I didn't see this mentioned in any of the reviews, which was surprising. It was peaceful and nice, but definitely not quiet. Maybe it was just us? We tried to make the best of it, and did get in some good bike rides, but were very disappointed in not having the quiet experience we had hoped for. The reason I'm writing this is so others renters won't be disappointed.
I was really skeptical about renting this location due to all the comments but I wanted to try it out for myself and I’m glad I did. Overall we had a good stay. Some pros; the place was clean, very spacious for our family of 7, the kitchen had a lot of counter space, the master bedroom was beautiful especially waking up to that view of the lake and sound of water. Some cons; the hot tub was dirty so we couldn’t use it and the beach/backyard area wasn’t really what I expected. But we made the most out of our stay!
beautiful area but we were unprepared for cabin problems
We received notification the day we made our 500 mile journey that a water pipe had broken at 4 am that morning and there was a hole and pile of dirt waiting for inspection. untrue, see photos. Access was extremely challenging for 4 people from 70 to 80. there were no verbal instructions for the house and written instructions were wrong. It was 86 degrees and no airconditioning as described. No hair dryer, no paper towels or extra trash bags. steep and trecherous access to river. old photos showed drip coffee maker but Kureg was present . we had fun with friends but the cabin was a real disappointment. Giant "wood" ants all over wall around the bed and through the living quarters. i was unable to download numerous pictures to demonstrate issues - this site would not accept them. This plus additional issues will be sent to VRBO for review.
Pros:
The Views were spectacular.
Waking up to that view from the room was so beautiful! It was great for our family.
We had a great time. The outdoor area was really nice. Was provided with all the kitchen essentials and restroom was fully stocked. Tv worked great movie night and game night was fun in the living room area.
Cons:
One thing we wish we knew there wasn’t ac in the house due to it being really hot at night. They had two fans in the house we were able to use which helped a little but great ful they had those available. The wifi wasn’t really good. When we arrived to the house there was flies everywhere in the bedroom we had to kill like 20 of them. The switches down stairs werent working properly. The fan upstairs couldn’t be left on without the lights being off. I’m not sure if people live in this property on daily basis but there was shoes in the entrance and personal items. On the side of the river there was a bonfire pit and we wanted to use it but the house inside had their rules and it said no fire on property premises.

Great cabin, poor vrbo customer service
Pros: Great homey, spacious cabin with lots of nice views of the forest and sacramento river in their back yard. We were 3 aduls, 2 toddlers and 1 dog. This was first time our grandkids was in snow and they were very happy. Kitchen had plenty of spices and cooking utensils.
Cons: No dishwasher. I misread and thought there was one. Would not have rented. LOTS of handwashing for our family of 5. Dishes left by previouss tenant still dirty/greasy. Had to rewash. No toaster or toaster oven even tho it was listed. Downstairs remote missing. And the icemaker did not work. Jeff from VRBO said there wasn't any icemaker and did not believe me re. missing items and existence of an icemaker in the freezer. I also said there wasn't a dishwasher and he said it was in the kitchen.
The driveway was steep and the snow had turned to ice, too slippery to back out. We had to be towed out our first full day. We bought melting salt to create traction. If you go during winter, I recommend you bring some. Would have been nice if owner had some on hand or warned us ahead of time. We were cautioned about snowy conditions but not the steep driveway.
They charged us $300 for additional guests (capacity was 10 and we were only 5) Also charged us double fee for our dog, $300 vs $150. (we told Jeff at time of booking the number of people and we had a dog) VRBO host Jeff was rude and would not explain charges other than it was all listed on their billing at the time of booking and we paid it so too bad. We should have disputed it then. I frankly didn't pay attention, I just wanted to complete the booking quickly as part of our overall holiday planning depended on this rental and I didn't want to lose it. I shouldn't be penalized for being careless like that.
All in all, we did have a good time and the cabin itself was great.
