The hotel is located away from the city centre so it is quiet and has a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean. Buffet breakfast has a wide variety of international and local dishes and are all delicious. Most importantly, the staff are courteous and very helpful. The service is top notch and the all in all the hotel is wonderful and is highly recommended.

Comfortable stay
Sprawling hotel - cold but generally comfortable. Hotel staff from the front desk to the ones serving in the restaurants and lounges are all very kind, helpful and considerate.

Hotel was very clean and rooms were spacious, Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent. The only problem was paying, we had to pay separate at the spa and Chinese restaurant and two times the card machine did not work. Basically the problem is they do not trust you even when they have a copy of your credit card.

+ Very spacious and clean rooms. + Hotel has good restaurants for dinner. - no choice regarding breakfast, only buffet style at fixed price. - most staff only speaks Chinese, no other languages.

The hotel was exceptional from top to bottom. Club lounge was amazing with good food and drinks. Breakfast was endless. Hotel staff friendless was amazing. Few people spoke fairly good English and I can appreciate that they are trying to learn. Nothing I could say negative about the hotel. The downtown is about 20-30 mins away within 30RMB. Perfect gateway if you are in Yunnan Province

Interconteniental will exceed your expectations
I never stayed at this chain before and this experience is going to make me try. OUTSTANDING Customer Service. Any little problem, e.g. my breakfast order was lost and they made customer accommodations - gave me a free pass to the business lounge. Business Lounge was outstanding and free. The Breakfast was so overwhelming I actually took pictures and posted to FB.

Nice spacious rooms but too big premises
Although this is a five-star hotel, I did not like the lobby or the premises of the hotel. The compound is too large and you have to walk a lot, and the lobby is dim & humongous. But the rooms are very nice and spacious, and breakfast is sumptuous. The location of the hotel is far away from most places in Kunming because this hotel is a resort near the lake.

Superb staff, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Nearly all staff spoke some English. Excellent food, good value for money. Hotel is long way from town centre but in pleasant residential area

Nice But Can Be Better
This hotel is probably your only international option when visiting Kunming. The hotel is a conference hotel and while I was staying there was an ABBOT and VISA conference going on. The management is trying to bring the staff up to international standards and the staff are eager to learn. As it's what they call an Urban Resort, it's a bit out of the city, therefore, your dining options are limited to the hotel's offerings. My biggest complaint is that the menus everywhere are exactly the same. The buffet restaurant a la carte menu is exactly the same as the in-room dining menu which is exactly like the bar menu. And I hate choosing from an iPad menu and clicking "order". It's supposed to be a nice experience…please, there are literally hundreds of staff, they can surely take an order.

An Intercontinental, yet not quite...
Hotel looks great on first impression... Great design, rooms are huge. But not quite up to par. Electric curtains in room were faulty, washbasin tap leaky, water's not hot enough. Three bulbs flickering and one just gave out. You see worn corners and marks on furniture / carpets from wear and tear. And this is a pretty new hotel! In-room dining tastes pretty bad (tried twice). Fried veg's too salty to be eaten, thai curry had same amount of oil as gravy, beef soup noodle had hot broth though noodle was cold in the middle. Thought its the general standard of food in the hotel, though breakfast (cooked local food) tastes decent. Hmm. Service is bit rough at the edges though the team is sincere and tries hard. I cant fault them though perhaps mgmt could do a better job. Not a terrible stay tho not an Intercon experience for sure. And the worst Intercon stay ever for myself personally!

Beautiful grounds in a quiet area of Kunming
Absolutely pristine resort in a quiet area of Kunming near Danchi Lake. Contrary to earlier reviews, the resort is now 6 months old and most of the 'growing pains' have been resolved. My only neutral comment would be the massive, almost cavernous design of the hotel, which when coupled with a low-occupancy week makes it feel less comforting. Also, might be tough at times to get to by taxi from central Kunming. The buffet is fabulous, though, and filled with wealthy locals and hotel guests alike.

숙면을 취할 수 있고 실행할 수 있는 최적의 장소였음. 호텔직원도 친절하며 조식도 다양하고 맛있게 먹었음. 중국의 산 물가 덕분에 도심에서 멀리 떨어져 있으나 택시요금아 저렴하여 문제되지 않음. 난핑지에까지는 20원이하, 쿤밍역꺼지는 15원이하, 공항까지는 120원이하로 이용하였음. 다음에 또 방문하고 싶음

Excellent Hospotality
Upgraded to Club Interconti, the exclisive Club room is confortable to stay for a week. The location about 10 km far from center of city is slight ly inconvinient, but much relaxed in the quiet and clean atmosphere.
