the hotel is located inside the shopping arcade. It is convinient but if you arrive with car you will have to park about 3~5 minutes walk away. reception is ok. NO English. Rooms convenient - no view. Amenities - ok wifi - ok breakfast - you can choose set from fix menu and other items such as salad etc. are in bar self service. Not good value compare to other places we been.

After the earthquake
Three day stay in Kumamoto, this hotel is on the edge of the shopping area, undercover access to most shopping. Hotel was easily accessable.

Hotel that in the middle of shopping street
Location is excellent ( I was confused by GPU guidance)! Yes, it’s in the middle of Japanese shopping street, therefore, I parked my car outside of the shopping street/ area. Bigger room than usual, good breakfast selection, friendly staffs, convenience shopping distance, and lots of lunch/ dinning options around it. Definitely recommended!

Highly recommended hotel
Large clean room which made it a very comfortable stay for 3 pax. Location of hotel is excellent too, being within a huge shopping mall. Walking distance to Kumamoto Castle and other tourist attractions around the castle. Will definitely stay here again!

Everything is great about this place. A pity that the parking is located about 5 mins walk away and there is no official lobby doorstep to park the car to load/unload.

Locate next to bus terminal and shopping and eat area. We reserved the 3beds room but the extra bed is a bit short and not so comfortable

Richmond Hotel Kumamoto Shinshigai
The hotel location is very strategic, easy access food and shopping. Its within walking distance to Kumamoto Castle and Kumamoto Square. Overall the staff are very helpful and we had good stay.

Fantastic Richmond!
Good location! Very useful FREE smartphone to use. Phone is a little slow. Carpark is 5 minutes walk away. Difficult to unload luggage if arriving at night.

Hotel has no own parking. Hotel staff informed me by email that I can park the car in the parking lots of Karashima Park which the hotel had friendships parking lots. However, when I checked in, the staffs in receiption told me that I shall park the car in another car park. At the end, I paid 1,800 ¥ for overnight parking.

Location is good. Received small gifts like DHC cleansing oil, toner, moisturizer, bath salt and mask for two days use. Hope to get free water though. They have free buckwheat pillow upon request too!

This hotel is in an excellent location - in a cute arcade, very close to many things (it is very close to the main bus terminal, where you can find the bus to the airport, as well as key tourist attractions); everything we wanted to visit was only a few minutes' walk away. The staff were very helpful when we wanted to find out how to get to Mount Aso. Like many hotels in Japan, it is on the smaller side, but that was fine for our budget. And check out is super easy - you just slide in your room key into an automated machine and you're done!
