Nest Hotel is conveniently located by the Sakura Machi Bus Station - a major transportation center, therefore there are many shopping and restaurant options. A major plus. Negative is the hotel is quite dated, room space very limited, very slow air conditioning, and very limited storage space in the room. The hotel is within walking distance of the Black Castle.

Right next to the bus terminal so easy transportation access. Pretty close to Kumamoto castle. The room was a bit dirty and there was a little bit of mold in the bathroom, but not enough to hurt anyone. The whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. For the price, I’d say it was worth it.

The location was close to the bus station and clustered around a lot of other hotels. Close to shopping mall and street so plenty of restaurants and shops. The room itself was too small for our luggage. Additionally, it was quite dirty for a hotel. The curtain in the bathroom was MOLDY and the toilet was stained. There was housekeeping but they somehow didn’t clean the bathroom except refilling amenities. Honestly quite disappointing for a 3-star hotel. Overall, the location was nice but not very hygienic.

Room rate was cheap but not worth it. First night found out aircon blowing hot air. Had to open the window for ventilation but then had to suffer the traffic noise. The spring bed mattress was uncomfortable and noisy. Next morning saw housekeeping left a pile of fresh towel and bedsheets etc on the carpet floor outside every room door. Second night the shower hose broke. Otherwise, the staff did try their best to converse with me using a translator app.
