Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kourkouloi?
The best area to stay in Kourkouloi is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main square.

Kourkouloi is a traditional Greek village located on the slopes of Mount Telethrio, offering a peaceful retreat. The village centre is compact and easy to navigate, with a few local tavernas and a small shop. The main square is often where local life unfolds, providing a genuine experience of Greek village living.

Couples looking for a tranquil and authentic Greek escape will find the village centre ideal. It's a place to unwind, enjoy local cuisine, and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. The pace of life here is slow, great for those wanting to disconnect and relax.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, staying within Kourkouloi provides excellent access to hiking trails.
When is the best time to go to Kourkouloi?
The best time to visit Kourkouloi is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, superb for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and authentic experience. This period is ideal for couples seeking a tranquil escape and for anyone looking to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or visiting local vineyards.

July and August offer the warmest temperatures and are superb for those who want to spend their days by the sea. While it's the busiest time, Kourkouloi retains a more laid-back feel compared to some of the larger, more touristy islands. Families often find these months suitable for a classic summer holiday, with plenty of sunshine for beach activities and swimming.
