If you are looking for an island vacation away from the crowds and traffic, Koh Kood is great and Shantaa is a great place to stay.
Rooms are luxurious with private open air bathrooms, and a great restaurant.

We were overwhelmed with the greatness of this hotel from the moment we arrived! Beautiful view, great food, stunning private beach and friendly staff. The hotel is secluded from the 'city', which we loved, but you can easily get into town with the free shuttle or taxi.

I booked Privacy Resort because of the good reviews...and I was not disappointed. The location on the quiet side of the island really suited me. Steve and Lily are excellent hosts...Breakfast is good and mini bar is stocked well and excellent prices...the pool looked very inviting...I stayed for 5 nights...was so busy exploring the island on my bike that I rented from Steve...I didn’t get to go in the pool. Steve has exceptional knowledge of what to do on the island and is a very genuine and...

Location is great granted you hire a scooter or don't mind paying for taxi's. It's in the middle of the island so it's a short drive north to White Sand Beach or south to some other bars/restaurants/shops but close enough to some great local bites and bars.
All guests are equal, meaning this resort isn't tiered, you pay more for the Villas which are bigger and give you direct access to a shared pool. Or you get an amazing hotel room with a personal plunge pool which is perfect thing to come...
