Lovely place and the staff and customer service were stellar. The restaurant was also the best food we have had in Sumba so far. The spa is under construction, so there were no spa services, even in the rooms, which was disappointing. We were warned about the construction of the spa, but didn’t realize that meant there would be no place to get a massage even nearby for a reasonable price. Nevertheless, we give it five stars.

Overall a stunning resort however the kitchen unfortunately, while a first class commercial kitchen, cant seem to produce hot meals at any time. If you just eat salad you’ll be fine. Menu is very small. Wait staff are lovely .

The view is beautiful, The staff are friendly. The facility is clean. But we did not have time to use the pool or the gym.

New hotel with great potential. Location is stunning, restaurant and bar very good, rooms simple but nice. Good air con. Comfy beds Downsides - the hotel often has no transport available for tours which is a real issue. There’s no way to see anything in Sumba without a car and driver. There’s pool was also not well maintained. Spa not open and building work ongoing though noise not bad at all. Despite the challenges, I enjoyed my trip. I’d definitely return. I suspect many of these issues will be resolved with time.
