Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kodanad?
The best area to stay in Kodanad is directly within the village centre, particularly near the elephant training centre and along the Periyar River.

This area is the primary point of interest for visitors to Kodanad. It's a compact village, and staying here means you're just a short walk from the main attractions. The elephant training centre is the focal point, offering opportunities to observe elephants, and the Periyar River provides a natural backdrop for activities like boat rides. The village is small enough that most amenities, though limited, are easily accessible.

For families, staying in the village centre is ideal due to its proximity to the elephant training centre. Children will love being close to the elephants and the river activities. It minimises travel time and allows for a more relaxed pace, making it easy to pop back to your accommodation when needed.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will also find the village centre appealing.
