A delightful little jewel of a hotel

We loved this charming little old colonial style hotel so centrally situated in a picturesque little street. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Thomas was there to greet us with a smile .

Freundlich, flexibel und hilfsbereit!

Aufgrund des extrem starken Monsunregens, könnten wir nicht nach Munnar/Kerala reisen. Wir haben daheim Köchin im Hotel angerufen, ob wir nicht zwei Tage früher anreisen könnten. Das war kein Problem! Da wir mit dem Nachtzug aus Udupi anreisen, waren wir morgens bereits um 5 Uhr im Hotel. Darüber hatten wir den Hotel Manager vorab informiert. Morgens um 5 Uhr empfing uns - freundlich und gut gelaunt - der junge Mann und bot uns an, bereits ein Zimmer zu beziehen.

Laid back faded glamour in excellent location

Situated in the heart of Fort Kochi this hotel offers old style and comfortable accommodation and was an excellent place to start our holiday. Beautiful furniture in the bedroom which was a good size and clean as were bed linen and towels. Air conditioning and fan worked very well. Staff were friendly and helped us organise an excellent afternoon trip to the backwaters. You can get a coffee anytime but not worth staying in for breakfast toast as there are much better breakfasts in the near vicinity. It has a homely feel and relaxed atmosphere. Get in to the groove because nothing happens fast, in common with much of India.

Very helpful staff

The hotel was absolutely fine for the price. The staff were really, super helpful - even though we arrived late, they recommended a great place for dinner and arranged transport to our next hotel by the next morning.

Fabulous hotel in Fort Cochi

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is a charming heritage hotel and very well located. It has beautiful wood and is very well cared for. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It is on Princess street which is surrounded by interesting shops, it is within walking distance to the port, and other points of interest. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

This is a good hotel for the money and location could do with having a power shower and tea and coffee in the room, but the service is friendly and good.

Great location nice staff, however!

Very disappointed with hotels.com description. There is no balcony with this room as stated in their description. Instead we got a table and 2 chairs under the stairs whilst painting and varnishing of the staircase took place. No TV as you can see from pics was out of service for our entire stay. Safe didn't work. But the staff were lovely and cleaners did a great job. Room has nice high ceilings and a very comfortable four poster bed. The complimentary toiletries weren't the best. They were in 2 old silver sticky containers and very hard to distinguish between shampoo and shower gel. There were some dusty cotton buds in an old dusty jar, I would recommend using them. Overall ok, but unfortunately wouldn't stay again. Sorry staff!

Lovely old hotel in good location

This was a lovely choice in a historic building and very central in Fort Cochin. The room was huge with 20' ceilings and lots of wood. We were on the 3rd floor so lots of stairs. The hallways looked out over the courtyard which was a little rough but quaint. The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast as very good.

Great old hotel with all charm intact

Large rooms with high ceilings and wide dark wooden floorboards and old furniture. Clean an spacious. Nice terrace outside the room facing the quiet courtyard. Very helpful and nice staff.

Centrally located in the Fort

This is a good boutique hotel in a great location in Fort Kochi. The staff is lovely and can arrange any trips or transport you need. The rooms are small but the courtyard is really nice. It is quiet and they serve breakfast and coffee. You can walk to the waterfront and some of the churches in a few minutes and take a tuk tuk to other parts of the Fort no problem.

Character and comfort

We only stayed for one night but would've stayed longer. This is a beautiful old property that is very clean and comfortable to stay in and is very well located in Fort Kochi.

Nice historical building but with no soul!

Excellent location. Good size room with style and character. Clean and well maintained. Eating area was mostly deserted and not inviting. There are better options close by for breakfast and diner. Most disappointing is the reception staff with basic conversational skills in English and as per the title of this review they do very little provide a soul to the place. Otherwise the hotel is ok if you find it at a good price.

Lovely charming place to stay

Very unique and charming, this hotel has rooms with a rustic and old look with modern facilities. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. The ladies running the hotel were very friendly and kind. There's a cute gelato place attached to the hotel and they also have some yummy cakes. Definitely recommend this place.
