"Very nice villas. Friendly staff. Facilities Nice and Calm atmosphere. Low tides dominated the day time but we know this before coming. Two of us Got sick from ice cream with travellers diarréa as a consequece, staff shoul have better hygiene routines."

"We had a lovely stay at this charming hotel. Its in a good location, and right on the beach making it easy to explore the local attractions, take boat trips and visit the nearby village. The staff were all really helpful, attentive and friendly. The pool and grounds are well maintained and the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. The delicious food was fresh, locally sourced and plentiful - we sampled it all. We particularly enjoyed the floating breakfast on our last morning. Entertainment was good too, and was delivered with enthusiasm. A particular highlight for us was the African evening, the fire eating was seriously impressive! The team clearly work well together to create a relaxed, uncomplicated atmosphere for their guests, we felt very much at home. Highly recommended."

"Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure you were happy. The hotel was clean and the pool quiet and beautiful. Beach access was great and the view from our room was stunning. It was a great place to relax after climbing Kilimanjaro! Only issue was limited range of food, particularly for vegetarians. "

Management of it really lacks. We had one outside light out of a possible 3. Lights burnt out inside the room. It could use proper management."

Juma, the Front Office Manager, arranged my round-trip airport transfer with Emanuel who shared local history along the way. Juma clearly explained my package and handled a small misunderstanding on my end with patience and helpful solutions. Consolata, the receptionist, welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home immediately. I arrived early, and she personally showed me around the property while sharing its history, which I truly appreciated. Ramso, my butler, was outstanding—attentive, calm, and genuinely caring. When I had a room issue (my mistake), he went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, moving me to a room that exceeded expectations. I would absolutely request him again! Chef Mohammed delivered excellent meals from breakfast to dinner. The food was fresh, authentic, healthy, and flavorful, and his passion truly shows. "My stay at Blue Reef was nothing short of magical. I truly felt like I was home and by the end of my visit, the staff felt like my extended family. They remembered me, cared for me, and made me feel genuinely special through the smallest, most meaningful gestures from offering me fresh passion fruit when I simply asked to take a photo of it, to inviting me behind the bar to show me how their fresh juice is made. The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely breathtaking some of the most beautiful moments I experienced in Zanzibar. One of the highlights of my stay was requesting an off-menu dish: ugali. The chef personally came out to ask how I liked the meal, which turned out to be the most delicious food I’ve had since arriving in Tanzania. My time in Zanzibar and especially at Blue Reef was pure magic. I’m beyond grateful for the warmth, hospitality, and unforgettable memories, and I cannot wait to return with my family."
