Kittatinny Valley State Park Tours and Activities

The hotel is located about 15 minute walk to timea square and a couple of blocks away from closest bus. We werent aware of the works going on at the hotel and were suprised to find no outdoor seating and the outdoor area covered in scaffolding, additionally there were workmen going up and down past our window doing repairs that started quite early in the morning. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bed, aircon worked perfectly and there were coffee making facilities. The fridge did work but only kept things cool rather than cold. However the thing that ruined our stay was breakfast. There were far too many people and not enough seating or food. We tried at several different times but it was still unpleasant. Food ran out as quickly as it was bought out and it was impossible to move around safely and comfortably. Pros- location, room space, aircon and general cleanliness of hotel. Local shops for food, drinks and bars etc. Cons- breakfast was over crowded, disorganised and not enough food or coffee. Lifts during breakfast. No warning of works at the hotel. Reception had 1 small sofa so not ideal when waiting for cabs etc.

Great location near Central Park with subway station next door. Room was a good size with refrigerator and safe as well as large modern bathroom. Staff were very helpful

The room was so tiny we could barely fit ourselves in, and bringing a stroller felt nearly impossible. When we pushed the two beds together to make some space, we discovered a bunch of garbage underneath—clearly, it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was absolutely no soundproofing. We could hear every word our neighbors said, the elevator doors opening and closing, and were basically unwilling witnesses to a loud party happening right behind our wall until around midnight—while I was trying to get the kids to sleep. Another big disappointment was the observation floor shown in their photos. It’s actually part of a bar that requires staff escort, and no kids are allowed—so we didn’t even get to see it. Breakfast was okay but limited, and not included in the price. Still, the location was excellent and really the only thing that made the stay worthwhile.
