Town of Ulverston has lots to see and plenty of history. Beach at Roadhead was very quiet amd sunset beautiful. Ideal location to see other parts of the lakes. Travelled by train from Haverthwaite upto Windermere."

"Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it "
