4.2/5 Very Good! (1,086 reviews)
I never write hotel reviews, good or bad I kind of usually just keep that to myself. This place was so above and beyond amazing that I HAD to share. My husband and I booked a poolside bungalow for a cross country road trip from NC to California. After a disappointing hotel experience in Palm Springs, I was SO relieved and appreciative of the stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt. My goal was to book a place with a cool history. I mean if you're gonna stay in Hollywood, especially for the first time ever, stay somewhere that has a story right?! Not some boring ole chain off the freeway. This place is not only absolutely STUNNING, but Marilyn Monroe lived in a poolside bungalow for two years, the very first Oscars were held here, plus a Hockney painted pool. It's right on Hollywood Boulevard, which is a wild and intense experience to walk down...but once you walk onto the Roosevelt property, all of that melts away and all the sudden you're in the oasis of beauty and it's hard to believe it's so close to all of that. The property itself is so well maintained and clean, quiet, and beautiful. Valet ensures your car is in a gated area so you don't have to stress about that. My husband and i often travel for work, and have often been put up in many upscale hotels in NY and elsewhere. Never have we stayed anywhere that can hold a candle to the Roosevelt...service wise and beauty wise. I will stay here for any future LA visits without even considering another hotel.
