Perfect
Pier Cottage provides the perfect base from which to explore Kinlochbervie and NW Scotland. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a week’s stay. We really enjoyed our time there.

A relaxing week .
We just pottered around KLB and enjoyed the brilliant scenery . It's a friendly place and excellent to relax. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed . There were sunny days and wet ones but we enjoyed our stay immensely .. We are seriously thinking about rebooking for 2024 ... Thanks for a great week Mairi .... Anita sends special thanks for the slippers ... !!!!!!!!

What’s not to like?
The location is perfect, for exploring this part of beautiful Sutherland. The cottage was spotless and welcoming, a really well equipped kitchen with good appliances, and all the rooms were spacious and airy. There was a Spar shop close at hand which was a real bonus . The garden was a welcome oasis of green in this hot weather. The hosts Mairi and Willie were attentive and on hand for any problems ( of which there weren’t ) , they called in, which is always so nice , to check we had all we needed. We were immediately at home here. There is absolutely nothing , ‘ not to like’ we had a great holiday.

Absolutely beautiful location, the accommodation had everything we could want for. Hosts Mairi and Willie greeted us warmly on arrival, supplied us with copious amounts of prawns and venison and were really friendly and helpful. Well stocked shop opposite. Lots to see and do. Will definitely be back.

A very comfy stay
This is a very nice, comfortable, well equipped bungalow with a pretty secure doggie garden. Great location for exploring and only 2 miles from Oldshoremore beach. The owners were really friendly and helpful.

Peaceful holiday
This was a lovely comfortable and clean property. It had all that you required for cooking. The showers were the most powerful we have ever had in a holiday let. One small fault, if your bigger like me the cubicle is quite small and the over bath shower curtain does stick to you but that is not a complaint more an observation, if your skinny no problem! The setting in Kinlochbervie is lovely with mature gardens at the cottage and Loch Closh two minute walk from property. You can see it from garden gate. A five minute walk to the working harbour and the lovely Quay House cafe, well worth a visit. Situated across from a well stocked Spar that sold a large range of food and drink, fresh fruit and veg etc. The cottage is well situated for touring both lower down the west coast to Ullapool and also up towards Tongue. We purchased crab and lobster from our hosts Mairi and Willie who made us very welcome as did any locals we spoke to.

Initial impression of the cottage is disappointing as is at the edge of the industrial estate rather than at the Loch/harbour as we expected but very clean and comfortable and only 5 minutes walk to the Loch side -Spar across the road very handy and surprisingly reasonable prices-easy access to beautiful beach at Oldshoremore and great eating options at the Quay for coffee/lunch and the Old Schoolhouse for Dinner and takeaway-would be happy to recommend and return

Lovely place
Well appointed cottage right by the old harbour, with Bervie Stores just across the road. Lovely and quiet and well placed for walks to Sandwood Bay and Cape Wrath, and for climbing Arkle, Ben Stack and Foinaven, as well as within striking distance of Durness.

If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday, this is the place for you. The cottage is modern, comfortable and clean and has everything you could need. Pier Cottage was just perfect for us - spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable (the sofa seats even recline!), extremely well equipped, off road parking and a lovely and safe garden for the dogs. Situated in a very quiet spot and the well stocked Spar shop is a stone's throw away. A great place to use as a base for wonderful sightseeing and walking in this stunning part of Scotland.

The property is lovely. Very spacious 3 bedrooms with ensuite to master bedroom. Lovely and warm, private enclosed garden, safe for dogs. Very comfortably-furnished, with good kitchen space and full-size fridge freezer. All bedding, towels included. Good wifi signal. Great, fast communication from owner, made us feel really comfortable.

Interesting and comfortable place to be
Warm and comfortable. Being in the middle of a fish production estate was so interesting. The beauty of the surrounding area cannot be surpassed and there are wonderful beaches and great hills to climb.

Stunning Location
Pier Cottage is in the perfect location by the old harbour at the fishing village of Kinlochbervie. Our host and hostess Willie and Maori were excellent, bringing us fresh caught fish and lobster. The scenery is second to none. There is a Spar supermarket, although small it stocks nearly everything and is directly opposite the cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage

Lovely cottage in a lovely place
Booked this place for my father's 60th as he always wanted to venture to the North Coast and see all the wonderful sights on offer. Just off the North Cost 500 route this cottage is perfectly placed as a great place to stay, I was very happy with the accommodation as it was very clean, well presented and secluded enough to be quite private. Being a 6 birth there is plenty of room for all guests to be able to enjoy the space of the property. Located literally 15 seconds walk from a lovely old port and small pebble beach, with local amenities of a shop and cafe just over the road this property offers everything you need. If I'm up this way again I would definitely stay again as I can't recommend it highly enough. If you do stay here, take a trip to Oldshoremore beach you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic!
What a place to spend a week. The house is perfect with all you would expect from a quality property. Mairi was there minutes after we arrived to show us the house with the bonus of Willie, her husband, bringing some beautiful, freshly caught Haddock a couple of days later. It really is a wonderful place to stay.

Clean, comfortable, good provisions and handy Wi-Fi. Mairi and Willie (the owners) are very welcoming/friendly and helpful. Fresh fish available locally and beaches are stunning. A little piece of heaven.
Pier cottage is a little slice tranquillity amongst some of the most breath-taking scenery our little isle has to offer. The cottage is well decorated, very comfortable and equipped with absolutely everything you could want or need in your stay. Location is very private in it's own secluded grounds but only 50m from a beautiful lock and quaint little harbour. There is also a well stocked SPAR just 30meters from the cottage. The owners Mairi and Willie and very friendly and always on hand for help and any questions you may have, Willie is a local fisherman and you can order shell fish which come from boat straight to your door and nothing comes fresher than that. Local scenery is just amazing with many beautiful and quiet bays within 15mins drive and the Scottish Highlands are just breath-taking. A walkers paradise with plenty of local wildlife to spot. All in all Pier Cottage comes highly recommended as a base for the more energetic or just to relax and recharge the batteries and we hope to return.

A great get away in beautiful North West Scotland
This is a very comfortable property, with all mod cons, in a beautiful area. The wifi was excellent, allowing good online access for our daughter who was studying. The surrounding area offers endless walking opportunities, with the vast scenery looking different in the various weathers and lights. Stunning beaches (Oldshoremore & Sandwood Bay) and plentiful wildlife (watched otters for an hour nr Durness, loads of deer and birds of prey). Even on wet days, we took a drive and were able to enjoy the dramatic scenery. Generous & welcoming owners, who helped us source fantastic local produce, including creel caught prawns, lobster and fresh fish, plus venison - simply delicious and hugely added to our holiday. Highly recommended. Go if you can.

Superb!
I booked a week away as a belated surprise honeymoon for my husband and we were not disappointed. The hosts were fantastic, with great communication from the start and throughout our stay. The cottage is beautifully kept and very clean. There’s a well stocked shop nearby and friendly locals. We really cannot recommend this property and location enough and the dogs approved too.

Spent last week in Pier Cottage with our dogs. Mairi and Willie could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and have provided a beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished holiday home with everything you need for a home from home holiday. Ideal setting for walking, beautiful beaches, lochs and landscapes. Blissful, relaxed week had by all. Oh and Drew says excellent local fishing opportunities! But try Willies catch if you get chance, best prawns ever.

Cottage was everything we could have dreamed of, very comfortable and super clean. Mairi and Willie have thought of everything, we were not short of anything. There is ample parking and a shop opposite that is like a little treasure trove, everything you may require. Excellently positioned to visit local fantastic beaches and a wonderful charcuterie. A great base for the north/west coast as you are in easy reach of Durness to the north, and Lochinver to the south. Perfection !!!

Pier Cottage, Kinlochbervie
A lovely property situated in the small and scattered village of Kinlochbervie - which is built around and about the active fishing harbour. The cottage is nicely sheltered from any bad weather by surrounding trees and bushes, and located just across the road from the local shop and the friendly Cafe. It makes a great centre for exploring the stunning local beaches (Oldhshoremore, Polin, Sheigra and the more distant Sandwood Bay). Also it is not too far along the single-track road to Smoo Cave (one of Scotland's few Limestone Caves) near Durness (which also features a 9-hole golf course, and via a pedestrian ferry and local minibus service, allows visits to Cape Wrath - the most north-westerly point on the Scottish mainland.) Our visit was impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions (Restaurants closed and the bus to Cape Wrath were not open) but the property was impeccably clean and very well equipped and we're already discussing a return visit.

Lovely cottage in lovely location
The property is exactly as described . Mairi was quick to reply to all our communications and was very helpful. We enjoyed some very fresh prawns which her husband delivered to us one evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the far north of Scotland and loved all the many beaches which we found. The walk to Sandwood bay on a sunny day was definitely worth it. The cottage was very comfortable for our week’s stay and the shop being just across the road was extremely convenient.

Fabulous week in lovely property and stunning location
We had a fabulous week staying with our grown-up daughters in Mairi’s property. It really is as nice as the pictures, spotlessly clean and a perfect base for our week of walking, beaches, relaxing and sunshine. We were incredibly lucky with the weather which made everything even better but the remote beaches and hills are stunning and worth visiting in any season. Mairi’s husband is a fisherman and brought us some super-fresh haddock which, with the good array of utensils provided in the kitchen and the village shop literally across the road, we were able to make a delicious meal out of. All in all such a tonic to busy city life.

Everything we were looking for (plus a bucket of prawns!)
A lovely, comfortable property in a great location- a minutes’ walk to the beach, and just seconds from the village shop. The cottage has everything you need as a base to explore the surrounding countryside and coastline, which is breathtakingly stunning; warm shower, comfortable beds, and even- by prior arrangement- a bucketful of delicious freshly caught prawns waiting on the doorstep for dinner. Mairi and Willie were great landlords, striking just the right balance - being really helpful without being at all intrusive. Highly recommended.

Super Haus / Super Lage
Wir ( 49, 53 Jahre) waren mit unseren Töchtern ( 15, 17 Jahre) für eine Woche in diesem sehr gut ausgestatteten Haus im Urlaub. Die Umgebung ist sehr reizvoll, insbesondere die schönen Strände ( Oldshoremore Beach 5 Minuten mit dem Auto) luden täglich zum Spazierengehen ein. Menschenleer auch der Sandwood Bay Beach ( Wanderung hin/zurück 3,5 Std.). Ausflüge zur Handa Insel und Old man of Stoer sind sehr zu empfehlen! Das Essen in der Old School ist sehr gut(Tisch reservieren) und auch Durness mit der Golden Zipline ist zu empfehlen. Haus: die drei Zimmer und zwei Bäder machen das Haus sehr geräumig, der Minimarkt (Spar) direkt durchs Gartentor und schon ist man dort, hat alles notwendige im Sortiment! Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet um sich selbst zu versorgen. Waschmaschine und Trockner sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Sehr zu empfehlen!!!
