The room was very clean and the location for me was perfect. I needed close to my work and it was. If you need to travel on I-81 this is the place to stay.
Staff was friendly, room worked (frig, microwave, etc.), free breakfast was sufficient (coffee and yogurt for myself). Parked outside the unit door. A bit noisy, otherwise, for the price it was great. Will use them again if needed (wife approved statement).
Things were pretty clean.
Nothing to complain about with the room.
Breakfast - wouldn't count on it. Only had those make-your-own waffles (which were good) and yogurt. Coffee from a machine.
Nothing within walking distance.
Generally all was ok, except that I got charged twice. I had pre-paid on Hotels.com and entered my check-in info. When I got to the motel, they didn't seem to have any of that info. And then, after I was in my room, I got a credit card notification that the motel itself had charged it. I went back to get it corrected and the staff person was very nice about it and set up a reversal. I assume just an honest mistake, but apparently it takes 5-7 days to show up on my account.
It was right off of the highway. Plenty of restaurants up the road. Room was clean. Went to office to ask for toilet paper. Wanted coffee and they made some
Not the worst place but subpar. I stay in budget motels dozens of times a year, many in this region. So no illusions about what to expect at this price range. But there are far better choices in the area for less money.
PROS -- Decent-sized rooms. Solid TV and channel selection. Not too noisy.
CONS --
-Not very clean. I'm a single guy with not real high standards, but a half-eaten chicken still in the fridge from a previous guest? Dirty floors are typical in this price range but this was worse than most. Chipped paint and chunks out of walls in and out of the room. Cigarette butts all over the property. Scraggly bordering on scuzzy.
-Missing some basics. No coffee maker in room, which is not rare, but no plastic cups or ice bucket either. "Breakfast" is predictably not much.
In general, the property is not well kept up. I won't be back. Not sure I'm allowed to put this in a review but I mentioned there are much better options. Two jump right to mind: the Super 8 on Roan St in Johnson City, 20 minutes south, is so much cleaner, friendlier and just a much more pleasant place to stay. If that's too far off I-81, then just up the road in Bristol is the Arcadia Inn. Again much cleaner, well-provisioned and happier. Neither are perfect but believe me, they are much better choices. Both are almost always cheaper too.
So this place is OK for a tired traveler with low expectations. But a little ways away are much better options
There was stink bugs throughout my room, room itself is nice and no other bugs. Bathtubs was dirty and had hair in it. Thr breakfast is only a yogurt or a waffle with their waffle maker, no other options!
Basic rooms with basic facilities, very good price reflects that. Free coffee 24 hours was an added benefit as it was always open adjacent to the main office. I did change rooms initially as my first one had a rather large gap under the door, so did the second just no where near as big. I’d advise the corporate office to look into remedying this easy maintenance issue to achieve the highest possible score
It was a good value, its an older hotel that has some updates. The room was clean, but there are lingering smells of an old hotel. No bugs, quiet, and clean sheets/towels - that's a win in my book! This was a 1 night stay on a weekend.
Checkin was smooth and he was super friendly. Rooms are remodeled and nice. The shower was warm with good pressure! Breakfast was limited but included waffles! Good place for a very fair price.
